- Proposal
- Have people who have the Ace of Aces badge acquire all the programs the factional pilots get to burn unto chips, instead of still having to jiggle back and forth between factions, or have a completely separate alt just to have access to 1 program to burn on chips
- Justification
- Someone who put in the effort to get AoA and is actively shipwrighting should get a small quality of life upgrade over changing factions (or having an alt in a different faction) just to make a single chip.
- Motivation
- Right now, if a shipwright or pilot wants to sell chips, they really need an alt in a different faction to sell the entire library, or constantly switch back and forth. This shouldn't be available easily, and I think having AoA, or doing a quest after getting AoA is a good stepping stone. Then we no longer need a completely separate character (or even two!) just to write all the chips for our vendors.
As it says on the tin.
Right now, to get, for example, weapon overload programmed chips, I need to have an Imperial character, else I can not program these.
However, I feel that a person who has achieved Ace of Aces really doesn't have to be bound anymore by this restriction. Someone who aces all 9 squadrons should really be able to get all the normal programs to put on a chip.
I'm only talking about the programs a pilot of a faction would normally get. Weapon Overload/Tuning, Capacitor Overload/Tuning, etc. Not the Kessel hyperspace chips and such. Those should remain as rare loot for obvious reasons.
I don't think this would be a gamebreaking bit, as one would need to have aced all 9 squadrons to get this to begin with. It'd just be a quality of life upgrade at this point.
It could also be put behind a quest if need be for an additional challenge.
