Auto-tip splitting suggestions for Entertainer Groups

Auto-tip splitting suggestions for Entertainer Groups

Proposal
Introduce automatic tip sharing setting.
Justification
Allows entertainers to easily be in party and distribute tips across all party members (entertainer groups / bands)
Motivation
QoL - Also encourages more social gameplay by grouping up
(( This suggestion was given to me in its exact format by Celyne, one of our most beloved Entertainers and a good friend, as she cannot yet post due to account age limitations, so I submit it to you for her.. - Mezzoforte Coda ))

We do run entertainer groups now and then - It would be lovely to have a way to automatically share tips received across the party members.
At the moment this can be done manually via /splitc amount_of_credits which distributes the credits given to the command evenly among all party members.

However its quite tedious to type this manually every time after receiving a tip.

It would be awesome to introduce an automatic functionality for this.

There is two variants that could work:

Variant A:

Tip sharing is enabled/disabled by party leader - Basically the same way how loot settings work. Once its set all tips any group member receives is automatically split to the members of its group.
Example

Variant B:

Allow players to individually trigger tip sharing via command or via options setting. Once its set all tips going to that individual person get automatically shared with the group.
Notice: This might be good to automatically disable again once leaving a group to avoid people forgetting to turn it off and sharing all their tips received in other groups

Diving into the settings menu every time is a sure-fire way for someone to forget and be sharing tips when they don't mean to (for example, if you're in a group with people who are out fighting things just for more convenient chat).

I'm in support of this if handled like loot settings, personally. And make those that join very aware that the setting is on/off so they can make an informed decision on whether it's something they want to do.

Its actually covered already. + Command variant is mentioned too. e.g. /sharetips off - /sharetips on

What can i say, its my idea so naturally im in for it. With either variant.

You're quite right, I missed that part in my sleep deprived state. <3

I'll still throw my weight behind the Variant A preferably, however, the more I think about it, the more I'd kind of like both. I don't perform at Eisley much anymore, but when I do, I tend to share all my tips and not expect others, especially newer ents, to do the same

I think there's a good case for auto-sharing tips, but I think it would be better if it was something the party leader set, and other players were made aware of when joining the group.

Otherwise players could join without the auto-share enabled, and not contribute, which is the biggest issue this suggestion addresses.

Just a note, with PV's its best if you just present one idea, rather than multiple. When the devs do look through them, it can be difficult to parse which idea the players are in favour of, or not!

Good PV though and I look forward to seeing where this one goes.

Cheers!

Support. I’m not an ent but usually tip a couple of them and not just the one giving the buff. This is a good solution.

Following Actairr's point, quite often in groups it's unclear if a client is tipping multiple people, and it can get confusing to know if a tip needs to be split, or if the client is pre-splitting and tipping multiple people. A form of 'group leader flagged auto-split' like how loot currently works would alleviate that entirely and just make tips distribute to the whole group evenly, and make sure everyone's fully aware that any tips they get will be split up among all party members.

THIS 10000% THIS :)

This is a great idea. The group leader controls seem like the way to go as people can opt out if they wish and fly solo and it minimizes the chances of new entertainers being confused by an additional menu option or slash command.
