Proposal
Can we perhaps add an option to the Heroic Token Vendor for the ability to Purchase a Crate of IG-88 Scopes, I'm not going to have the best idea on cost/scope amount, but a quick example would be spending 5 IG-88 (or one of each token) for 1 Single Scope Crate, that would give 5 scopes, (random chance for Legendary)
or make a regular scope crate for 1/2 tokens, and a legendary Scope Crate for more, I dont really care how bad the token sink is personally and perhaps others have a better Math/Reasoning for a cost/reward

Justification
The Reason I am proposing this is because with IG-88 the ONLY source of these endgame scopes, and with the recent nerf to the Scope Farming strategy previously done, I think there needs to be a more consistent way to bring these into the market.
We have so many new folks and Veterans alike who are witnessing a scope drought, and I don't think Endgame Scopes should be reaching exorbitant Credit Costs as they currently are, The fact that weapons degrade as fast as they do, makes it very hard to keep up with the demand as it currently is, for many factors

Motivation
Lots of new players being priced out and also unable to form groups/complete the hardest difficulties means they don't get to be on a fair playing field in regards to PvP endgame weapons, and that extra boost for PvE, The scarcity of these scopes as they currently are in my honest opinion is not healthy for a Server that is gaining population, but a worsening influx of IG Scopes, Degrading items in general shouldn't be so RARE to acquire in all honesty, but we at least have a Farmable/easier alternative for Pucks/Decrepits already, so why not make something for scopes?

I would like to see heroic loot go this way for a few things to be honest, not just scopes - similar to Mustafar tokens. Obviously not *everything* should be available, but consumables like weapon components (augs, enhancements, scopes, NS vibro blade units), weapon schematics (not legendaries) and armor schematics should be available. Basically a consolation prize for getting unlucky with loot rolls, so you buy them with tokens.

I think a good opportunity was also missed to have Hoth tokens to do something similar with their loot pools.

I do think that maybe there should be some "check" on Legendary and any other Nightmare quality items to see if you've completed the instance in Nightmare at least once first.
 
Thanks for the support, It's hard to Articulate and Explain a proper # of conversion, and the problem is more than just scopes too you are right Banth

I think ultimately with our rising player-base and in an effort to allow an easier barrier to entry for all forms of content I am Willing to Stand my ground on the belief that ALL Weapon Consumable/Crafting components need to be a lot more common, in fact There is little negative to having a surplus of Legendary scopes and high quality Decrepits because the rarity in them is two-fold

First MANY players are not able to Reliably farm IG-88 NM and and the few Elite mobs that drop these items, The scarcity already exists HERE
and 2nd these items roll very wide values which mean sometimes you are getting something that is barely better than a Crafted version of the component

Even if we were to have a theoretical stimulus package of all those things funneled into the game through a Token to Crate conversion Year Round, The value of them would still hold at reasonable Prices for Genuinely Good rolled parts, and more people would be participating in the market of them overall...

As it currently stands there's hardly a page of any of these items on the bazaar, and mid tier scopes/decrepit are being sold for insane prices because of the scarcity

As an Addendum, I would point towards the Space Duty Token/Crate boxes there, A similar mechanic in regards to weapon crafted components would keep parity between content and seems like a no brainer, Space parts themselves still hold incredible value even though people print out parts left and right

Thank you for this post, I think it's very true that there is a bottleneck on this item, and that alternative methods of acquisition should be explored. I think both the OP and the posts made by others explore interesting ways of doing so.
