Proposal
New Padawans with no other skill points are CL 1, The training Saber should also be CL 1 (it's currently CL 7).
Padawans should NOT be allowed to reach a Visibility Level that would get them flagged for PvP. That should be for Knights/Masters only.
The Ranch should provide a *Visibility* meter for Padawans to learn the timing of how long it takes to clear their Vis.
Padawans should not suffer the extreme death penalty that comes with Jedi. The loss of a massive amount of hard earned EXP and the (WTF) time out of 18 hours in today's gaming environment is not realistic.
Justification
As one of the hardest/longest/grinding paths in the game, the Jedi have very little support systems. These minor changes would make the transition much more helpful.
Motivation
Just unlocked my Padawan and got killed with-in 30sec because I was unable to use any other skills (Melee/1H/2H) with a saber, a new Padawan has 2 noobie attacks and is literally CL 1.
Coming out with a CL 75+ and not being about to do anything but DIE was a very painful way to start my new path.
Minor quality of life changes to Padawan

Every jedi right now is a padawan, you should never be CL 1 you fucked up here by dropping everything. You clicked accept when you read what can happen when you become a jedi you signed up for this.

Jedi is "hard" because it kinda makes a joke out of the rest of the game

A Jedi Padawan would destroy a (CL ~60) anything within the lore... Just saying.
Kinda the reason Jedi are "OP" within the game. The additional dangers, consequences, etc are there to balance this out.
Furthermore, the game is set at the tail-end of the Jedi purge. They're supposed to be endangered and the life is not supposed to be easy.
If you've ever dated, you would know that Easy NEVER EQUALS Rewarding.

This sounds more like NGE mechanics. Simply gearing/learning the profession would resolve the supposed issue.

To be clear, I'm not trying to sound elitist. I'm a recent graduate of Lazer Sword Academy too, and I've been taking it very slowly in regards to running my character into difficult content. I acquired my belt/gear prior to finishing the village, and have in-large-part depended on advice from veterans as to how to play.

It's hard out herr ferr us Force users, but no need to punish anyone :P

As Nidums pointed out you should not have dropped everything until you were leveling up. Padawan are an alpha class and the vis part is something you learn. Can you tell exact numbers ? No. But you can tell when you are getting close to going on the boards and then it is a choice as to whether you stop and reduce your vis or just blow past it and go on the boards. The ghost timer is nothing once you plan it out as well. Just plan your ghosty for when you log off for the night. 8 hours sleep, 8 hours work, 2 hours food etc and bam ready to go.

You can run heroics and all and never get on the boards if you do not want to. It is about learning the system (huh go figure a poadawan learning) and makinh choices (another huh go figure). There is also this to remember:

According to the lore in this game's time and age, Jedi are almost nonexistent and are hunted, hated, and shunned by the vast majority of the population. The life of those who choose the way of the Force should be perilous, and they must be extremely careful to avoid being noticed as Jedi.

It is very easy to level a full template jedi without getting on the boards. Jedi is a heroic alpha class and has a minor drawback that can be easily managed.

If you are constantly on the boards when levelling then you are doing something majorly wrong. As Tyr said, jedi are meant to be in hiding according to the lore. It is hard to get to 3000 vis and obvious cues along the way, with multiple ways to reduce vis.

This is a preparation issue, not a broken game mechanic

Pretty sure we all watched Vader kill the younglings, they don't need a safety net, they need to pay attention to the in-game cues telling them they're visible.

Padawans should not suffer the extreme death penalty that comes with Jedi. The loss of a massive amount of hard earned EXP and the (WTF) time out of 18 hours in today's gaming environment is not realistic.

The death mechanics aren't harsh enough, imho. 500k XP for PvE deaths and 1 mil XP from PvP. if you're smart about it, it can take as little as 10-15 minutes of grinding to get back to 1 mil in a good group. You die around bed time, you can get back on after work the next day. If you don't have the time to play a Jedi, there are 32 wonderful profession choices out there that will not restrict you based on deaths.

The best part of SWG is the consequences of being a dumbass when you're trying something new. You don't need guardrails, you should factor in the learning curve when making decisions.

Where were the skills you had from doing the village? Did you go to the village as a crafter? If so, you should have immediately gone and grabbed some quick skills after phase 4 when the village was being attacked, maybe Doctor or CM to help you get some healing abilities and levels under your belt. Maybe a little Brawler/Marksman to give a some more offense.

Minor quality of life changes to Padawan

I don't think this is helping anyone, it's just giving lazy players who unlocked the alpha class protection from threats that are disadvantaged compared to them or will be very shortly.

Disagree. I look forward to unlocking jedi someday and if this

Aww did they reduce the restrictions? I couldve sworn the website says you can put them in force ghost time out for up to 48 hours.

Also no to the proposal. If they make it easier right before I unlock jedi again I'm gonna scream

Padawan Ghost is 18 hours.

This myth really needs to be squashed. The only people you saw luke destroying in the OT was the same people han and lea destroyed. Even the ewoks were beating up stormtroopers.

And in the prequels, it was mostly mindless droids. When Jedi had to actually go up against something that wasn't typical Canon fodder eg: jango fett , it was a real fight that they sometimes lost.(Jango destroyed a jedi master within a few seconds) Only Yoda and Darth Sidious ever really demonstrated ungodly alpha status .

The EU had more examples of teras kasi and mandalorians going toe to toe with jedi. So jedi always being alpha doesn't really hold up.

_______________

On the OP, getting on the boards at such a low level is not the games fault.

This is just no all the way around. If you come up with some ui changes that improve the system or something like that then great. But yeah, this was mostly due to a lack of research/preparation on your part.

All of the proposed changes describe the system working as intended. Please refer to our developer diaries, etc. so we won’t be moving forward with this.
