- Proposal
- Create a Temporary Enemy Flag (TEF) system based on players' PvP Prestige:
Recruit/0 PvP Prestige: No TEF.
Rookie: TEF while in combat only. TEF ends immediately when the player exits combat.
Combatant: 60 second TEF.
Special Forces: 120 second TEF.
Galactic Marine: 5 minute TEF.
PvP Legend: 15 minute TEF.
- Justification
- By basing the amount of time a player is flagged for on their PvP Prestige, (which reflects their experience and/or success), we create an environment where those who engage in PvP content experience the most change, while those who don't stay unaffected.
- Motivation
- Provides further potential for unexpected, spontaneous open-world PvP.
PvP on Restoration currently revolves around flashpoints, which are a great system I’m personally very fond of. It gives PvPers a reliable time to expect PvP, as well as quick and direct transportation.
However, there’s been a lot of discussion on how to bring PvP to the open world, something that makes SWG so unique.
The addition of PvP Prestige lays out the framework for a system that can be forgiving on PvE-focused players, while creating a risk-reward dynamic for those who chase the thrill of PvP. This way, PvP does not have to only occur at flashpoints or from Bounty Hunter terminals. This also avoids a gank-or-be-ganked dynamic.
