Proposal
Allow Squad Leader buffs to apply to your own active creature from the Creature Handler profession.
Justification
Currently, most Creature Handler builds I've encountered or heard of tend to favor mostly solo content. Allowing active pets to benefit from your own Squad Leader buffs would allow a significant part of the SL profession to actually benefit a person with both SL and CH in their build. This change would be ideally incentivizing more group play in CH players as well as greater build diversity.
Motivation
We already see a great deal of CH players on the server, but often don't have as much to offer to the group environment. Allowing Creature Handlers to benefit from (at least their own) Squad Leader buffs on their pets would incentivize more build diversity in Creature Handlers, as well as make those CH that use this build more appealing to groups, given that they have the abilities of a squad leader.
I realize this is a controversial statement, let me try and pre-empt some of the major complaints I've heard before you downvote, please?

This is not meant to make CH players stronger. CH who do this build would not be able to go into master doctor, master CM, commando, or whatever other meta builds are there as well. This would be an alternative.

This is meant to incentivize group friendly builds, and more diversity in CH players. Ideally it would allow all the benefits of a squad leader to apply to their pet, so the CH isn't penalized for their choice of other profession when trying to be more appealing to groups.

Also, I'm kind of unclear on how motivation and justification are distinct in player voice, sorry if there's an overlap there but my justification is the things that motivate me. My motivation feels like the justification for this change?

I like the idea but fear it could lead to an imbalance. CH would be the only profession that benefits from being a solo SL. Not a down vote for me, but something to think about.

My issue is in that CH is often not wanted in group settings, I'm not sure how we could improve that. The PV was my idea for it, but I'd be very open to trying to discuss other ways to make CH more fitting in group content.

Posting to downvote. SL should never be a way to be a better solo player. I prefer how it is now to what this proposal would be.

Is that because groups don’t want them around or because they don’t want to be in a group? Do SL buffs work on other peoples pets? If not I think that would be a better solution.

The total lack of self awareness from the PV creator is wild !
He starts by writing "Allow Squad Leader buffs to apply to your own active creature from the Creature Handler profession" then a few lines below goes on "This is not meant to make CH players stronger" , Like buddy what do you think its going to happen to BE 60pt creatures which are already pretty damn strong to run around with SL buffs on top ?
Also you don't even need Doctor or CM to keep pets alive , the pet heal is pretty strong by itself and that is not even including the pet stims that are available.

Thanks for your kind words and courtesy, and thank you for at least reading the bolded text before responding. I tried my best to answer the question in the very next bit of text right after the bold text ended.
To answer your question of 'what do I think is going to happen' in that scenario? I expect that in this theoretical they wouldn't be supported by a wealth of doctor buffs in addition to the extra heals when things get hairy. Or that they won't have the CM blend of heals and dots, or that they won't have the commando riddle armor stacks, or the other metas that are currently going around. See, the point isn't to add the ability to be a full squad leader on top of the existing CH builds, but as an alternative to some of the existing pairings.

Other people have pointed out a severe flaw with this PV and some pretty damning issues with it, so trying to make CH more common in group settings isn't going to be the easy fix I was hoping it might be.

I have had it explained to me on a few occasions that CH (and the classes that tend to go with them) don't have much to offer a group unlike other builds. I'm fairly certain that I can't make a PV that doesn't have a solution, but just suggests that 'the creature handler is a super popular build that doesn't easily slot into group play.' Without putting forward a solution, but I could absolutely be mistaken on this. I did worry that this was a controversial opinion right out of the gate, but I'm hoping that I can get some more ideas out of this humiliation ritual while it crashes and burns.

Thank you for explaining your reasoning. I hadn't considered the fact that it would be the only profession to see a solo benefit from being a SL, as opposed to looking at this from the CH side where I'd go 'well now this build has a reason to exist, and hopefully it'll add more value to groups. This is definitely a concern and a serious flaw in the proposal. I think that if I wanted to make CH better for groups, it'd need to be done in a different way.
