Proposal
Allow us to place a player controlled turret to defend our homes. Just like a POB turret but ground based in a player owned house.
Justification
Why should an unbuffed player be pulled out of their house and killed by 3 bounty hunters because they have a mission to eliminate a man who is terrorist adjacent? Let them deal with me and my Tier 10 Corellian Gauss cannon emplacement first. Then I'll fight. If I'm caught in the open world, fair game.
Motivation
I don't believe that we should be hunted for taking an active role in the STAR WARS but we are. Let us defend our homes, if we are there, and put up a better fight. Also - a suggestion for future plans on player city based GCW PVP with regards to secondary targets or player guided garrison type content.
I want to defend my home.

it’s an interesting point, but not sure it’s lore or balance appropriate? There’s a plan to add a Jedi Haven city specialization with the city update that will have some relevant benefits in this vein and others, and is perhaps the better vessel for this over individual homes

Not my intention to balance the game or be lore appropriate but from an RP POV a high ranking GCW officer would sure know how to rig up a turret on his roof. Anyhow, looking forward to the city update. Perhaps ranking officers could be afforded some ability to garrison in their player homes after city structures are compromised? Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Passive alert systems would not unbalance so much, like a repurposed faction scanner designed to detect cloaked personnel outside your home.

i would expect that you'll see radar technology that uncloaks and countermeasures for Jedi as well

This is possibly the worst pv suggestion ever posted. A lot of words just for being salty from being bounty hunted. Hard downvote

I think the fact a player can be yanked from their home to only add more enjoyment to the bounty hunter class is rediculous. Homes are supposed to be a safe spot. Why is it that other players are only there to be fodder for them. That is forced PvP.

So simply stay off the boards. It is not hard to do and you agreed to it when you accepted to become a Jedi. (FYI breaching charges have been around for awhile, they just changed them to 500k which seems to spare the new jedis who are just learning and those that get killed before there bounty gets that high).

Guessing you play a BH. Never been on the boards but still think that making one player class fodder for another classes enjoyment and then giving that class "BH" all the candy while nerfing the other "jedi" at every turn is kinda crappy play.

I play both. How exactly did they nerf the jedi at every turn this time? The system is set up so we don't have Jedi running around in the open everywhere. It is not about making one class fodder or giving preferential treatment to BH. If anything this recent patch went out of it's way to ease up on the new Jedi and those that have bounties under 500k and just closed a loophole on the gunships which almost no one has so guess if you want to freak out that is fine but you are wrong on this one. Unless you just feel Jedi, an Alpha Class, should be allowed to roam freely with no restrictions? I see both sides but this patch is nothing to get worked up about unless you just want to.

Tell you what. Why don't we take the BH out of it completely and just have it so when you hit 3k vis a team of Inquisitors appears and kills you. Simple, clean, no complaining about BH or pvp anymore. That way "one player class fodder for another" is no more.

Inquisitors already show up. I've fought two and killed them both at same time.

I enjoy Bounty hunting and Jedi side as well. The vis I totally support breach as vis can be managed. The amount of 500k for a breach in our personal homes I am still against as that is two nights of instances.

Break in my home irl and I'd have several surprises for you. For those who are about to die we salute you.

I know I was being facetious about them. Are you sure about that 500k bountygetting that high after running just 2 nights of instances? I don't see a lot of 500k+ bounties out there so that sounds wrong.

A jedi who runs through all instances with other jedi especially on tk/ek with several other jedi will have a higher bounty after a full run of instances back to back.

Just to clarify: Jedi Bounty doesn't go up the more visibility you get. Jedi Bounty just goes up over time the longer you stay above 3000 visibility.

If you started from scratch, did a heroic run, and happened to go above the 3000 threshold due to also being accompanied by other Jedi: you'd get a new bounty of around 100k, and then it would on average take you around 22 hours of in-game time staying above 3000 visibility to finally hit a 500k bounty (and be able to be breached from your home).

Is there a cap on visibility? I've had two inquisitors spawn at exact time coming out of instances. Killed them and Vader immediately popped. Ran and got away from him.

I normally devis every night at Sanctum with 1 or 2 FS ents but after a couple days of instances my bounty gets very high.

Just curious how do you know how high it gets?
