Proposal
The InterGalactic Banking Clan (IGBC) is introducing two new remote banking features: the ability to transfer credits between bank and debit accounts directly from a datapad, and access to personal bank vaults through a Mobile Vault Acquisition System (MVAS) droid dispatched to the player's location.

To unlock these services, players must complete an IGBC quest that sends them to banking terminals across the galaxy. At each terminal, players complete a minigame to remove Imperial safeguards that have prevented banking system upgrades. Successfully completing five terminals rewards Empire Analytics Electronic Data Chips.

After collecting enough Data Chips, players can obtain a single use schematic for an IGBC Datapad Module, a no-trade item that grants access to what is essentially a mobile bank terminal, allowing players to transfer money in between their bank and waller as well as access their safety deposit box behind a time gate. The module must be crafted by a Master Artisan and requires a Tier II Veteran Token component and 1,000,000 credits, encouraging cooperation between professions while serving as a veteran reward and credit sink.

Please note: I've hidden three much longer write ups of how I think the PV could be implemented, from a flavor piece which focuses around the lore, the way the quest could be written out as well a very long fleshed out write up of how the mini game works. These three spoilers are not required to be read to understand the essence of what this PV is about.
In its ongoing effort to modernize financial services across the galaxy, the InterGalactic Banking Clan (IGBC) is proud to introduce two revolutionary new banking features designed to provide unprecedented convenience and accessibility for its customers.

The first innovation allows users to perform direct transfers between their primary bank accounts and debit accounts (wallet) entirely through their personal datapads, eliminating the need to visit a banking branch for routine transactions. With just a few taps, citizens can securely manage their funds anytime and anywhere.

The second advancement is the introduction of the official MVAS (Mobile Vault Acquisition System) Droid Service. Upon request, a certified MVAS droid unit can be dispatched directly to a customer's location, granting secure access to the contents of their personal bank vault. Whether retrieving valuables, depositing assets, or managing stored possessions, customers can now interact with their vaults without ever leaving their home, workshop, or wherever their adventures take them.

Together, these groundbreaking services represent a major step forward in galactic banking technology, providing customers with greater control over their finances and possessions than ever before. Through the power of modern datapad integration and mobile vault access, the InterGalactic Banking Clan continues its mission to bring secure, efficient, and convenient banking solutions to citizens throughout the galaxy.

How it works:

By speaking with an IGBC representative at the Mos Eisley Bank, players can begin a new quest centered around the Clan's latest banking technologies. The quest sends players to several major banking institutions throughout the galaxy, where they must access banking terminals. Each terminal initiates a unique minigame involving removing a safeguard installed by the empire on the bank terminal which has prevented the IGBC from upgrading their technology. Successfully completing the minigame on five different banking terminals throughout the galaxy rewards players with Empire Analytics Electronic Data Chips.

Once a sufficient number of Data Chips has been collected, players must return to the IGBC representative to receive a schematic for an official IGBC Datapad Module, a no-trade item that grants access to both remote banking features. To encourage interdependency between professions, the schematic must be crafted by a Master Artisan and requires a specialized component purchased with a Tier II Veteran Token, along with an additional cost of 1,000,000 credits.
IGBC Representative:
"In order to keep strict control over the galaxy's finances, the Emperor had every bank terminal equipped with an analytics chip. Those devices monitor transactions and restrict what the InterGalactic Banking Clan can do with its own network. Now that the Empire's priorities have shifted elsewhere, these terminals no longer receive the scrutiny they once did, creating a rare opportunity to begin upgrading our networks unnoticed. If we can remove the analytics chips, we'll finally be able to modernize our systems and introduce new services, including secure access to personal accounts and vaults directly from a datapad."

Player:
"What do you need?"

IGBC Representative:
"We've identified several bank terminals that still contain one of these analytics chips. I need you to access the terminal's maintenance systems, isolate the chip from the rest of the circuitry, and remove it without damaging the terminal. Once the chip is gone, our technicians can begin installing the upgrades needed for the new datapad banking network."

Player:
"What's in it for me?"

IGBC Representative:
"The Banking Clan could pay you handsomely for this service, but instead, you'll receive early access to our revolutionary new banking technology. Imagine managing your credits, authorizing transfers, and accessing your vault from anywhere in the galaxy with nothing more than your datapad."

Player:
"I'll see what I can do."
Empire Analytics Chip Retrieval Minigame
sTmAGYQ.png

Objective

The objective of the minigame is to isolate and remove the Empire Analytics Chip from a circuit board without disrupting power to the remaining systems.

The circuit board contains five chips:

• Holonet Relay
• Logic Core
• Interplanetary Communicator
• Interface Module
• Empire Analytics Chip

At the start of each game, one randomly selected chip is connected directly to the Main Power Hub. The Empire Analytics Chip can never be selected as the chip connected directly to the Main Power Hub.

The chip connected to the Main Power Hub cannot be disconnected from the Main Power Hub. No other chip may ever be connected directly to the Main Power Hub.

All five chips begin interconnected through a randomized network of links. The network is generated so that every chip has a valid path to the Main Power Hub and the puzzle is solvable.

The player's goal is to remove all connections to the Empire Analytics Chip while ensuring that every other chip remains connected to the Main Power Hub through the circuit network.

The first time the player disconnects a link, a one-minute safeguard countdown begins. The countdown cannot be paused, stopped, or reset. Using the Back option restores the last disconnected link but does not stop the countdown.

Game Start
The player is shown the following explanation and menu:

"Analyzing the circuit status will show you the current state of the circuit. You will select a chip to focus on. You may disconnect one of its links and reconnect it elsewhere in the network. Disconnecting your first link will begin the safeguard countdown."
• Analyze Circuit Status
• Exit

Selecting Analyze Circuit Status opens the circuit status menu.

Circuit Status Menu
The player is shown the current network as well as the circuit status:

Circuit Status: STABLE
• Holonet Relay: Main Power Hub
• Logic Core: Holonet Relay, Empire Analytics Chip
• Interplanetary Communicator: Empire Analytics Chip, Interface Module
• Interface Module: Interplanetary Communicator
• Empire Analytics Chip: Logic Core, Interplanetary Communicator
• Focus on: Holonet Relay
• Focus on: Logic Core
• Focus on: Empire Analytics Chip
• Focus on: Interface Module
• Focus on: Interplanetary Communicator
• Remove Empire Analytics Chip
• Exit

Focusing on a Chip
Selecting a chip displays all chips currently connected to it.

Focus: Interplanetary Communicator
• Interplanetary Communicator: Empire Analytics Chip, Interface Module
• Disconnect: Empire Analytics Chip
• Disconnect: Interface Module
• Back
• Exit

If the player selects a disconnect option for the first time during the current game, a warning appears:

"WARNING: Disconnecting your first link will begin the safeguard countdown. You will have one minute to remove the Empire Analytics Chip."
• Confirm
• Back

Selecting Back returns the player to the previous menu.

Disconnecting and Reconnecting Links
After a link is disconnected, the player must immediately reconnect one of the two affected chips to another valid chip. They are shown the following menu.

You have disconnected the Interface Module from the Interplanetary Communicator.
Select a new connection:
• Connect Interface Module to Holonet Relay
• Connect Interface Module to Logic Core
• Connect Interface Module to Empire Analytics Chip

• Connect Interplanetary Communicator to Holonet Relay
• Connect Interplanetary Communicator to Logic Core
• Connect Interplanetary Communicator to Empire Analytics Chip

• Back
• Exit

Connection Rules
The following rules are always enforced:

• A chip cannot be connected to itself.
• A connection that already exists cannot be created again.
• Only the original power-hub chip may be connected directly to the Main Power Hub.
• Disconnecting a link must always be followed by creating a new valid link.
• The player may only reconnect one of the two chips involved in the most recent disconnection.
• Using Back restores the disconnected link and returns to the previous screen.
• The safeguard timer continues running even if Back is used.

Circuit Validation
After every reconnection, the circuit is checked.

Circuit Integrity Maintained
The circuit remains valid if:

• Every non-Analytics chip remains connected to the network.
• Every non-Analytics chip still has a path to the Main Power Hub.
• Only one chip remains directly connected to the Main Power Hub.

If these conditions are met, the player is returned to the Circuit Status screen and may continue modifying the network.

Failure Condition
The safeguard triggers immediately if:

• Any non-Analytics chip loses access to the Main Power Hub.
• Any non-Analytics chip becomes disconnected from the network.
• More than one chip becomes directly connected to the Main Power Hub.
• The one-minute countdown expires.

When the safeguard triggers, the following menu is displayed:

Safeguard triggered. The circuit board has locked and can no longer be altered.
• Exit

Success Condition
The circuit is considered Clear when:

• The Empire Analytics Chip has no remaining connections.
• Every other chip remains connected to the network.
• Every other chip still has a valid path to the Main Power Hub.

When these conditions are met, the Circuit Status menu displays:

Circuit Status: CLEAR
• Remove Empire Analytics Chip
• Exit

Attempting Removal Early
If the player selects Remove Empire Analytics Chip before the circuit is CLEAR, the following menu is displayed:

The Empire Analytics Chip is still connected to the circuit.
• Back

The player is returned to the Circuit Status screen.

Victory
If the player selects Remove Empire Analytics Chip while the circuit status is CLEAR, the chip is successfully removed and the minigame is completed.

Justification
Introducing these changes would help modernize the way our banking system works. There have been many positive discussions around how to implement bank vault sharing amongst characters and while this system does not address that directly, it would facilitate either being able to dual box two alts connecting near one another and transferring goods from anywhere in the galaxy but also allow players to access more remote player housing or even city housing and manage their bank vault directly from their home. This system serves as both a reward for dedicated veteran players and a modest credit sink while promoting interaction between professions. The quest would be non-repeatable and would need to be completed separately for each character wishing to obtain the module.

EDIT: With the feedback received so far, a time gate would likely need to be implemented on the remote bank storage access to prevent players using it as a simple means to have an extra on demand access to an extra 100 slot of inventory space. This is a role already filled by storage droids to a lesser extent and would simply remove the need for them altogether. Time gates such as 30 minutes, 1 hour and even 12 hours have been discussed. More feedback is always welcomed.
Motivation
As it stands, the banking system is archaic. Tips come from one side, rent another and trading with players for money is often an issue, this would allow players to avoid searching all over for a means to transfer their money in between both their bank and wallets. In a time period where data is such that holograms conversations can be had across both ends of the galaxy in real time, it is only logical that our digital currency could do the same.
The InterGalactic Banking Clan (IGBC) played a significant role during the Clone Wars. While it initially secured numerous lucrative agreements with Count Dooku's Confederacy of Independent Systems, the immense costs of the war soon began to drain its vast reserves. Massive investments in the research and development of advanced droid technologies, including the IG-100 models and MagnaGuard series as well as the continual production and deployment of countless battle droids placed an enormous strain on the organization's finances.

The situation worsened through a series of devastating events. The deaths of key leaders, including the clan's influential chairman, San Hill, during the Separatist Council's downfall on Mustafar, as well as the loss of General Grievous and the staggering expenses incurred throughout the conflict, left the IGBC severely weakened. By the time of the Empire's rise, the once-powerful financial institution had been reduced to a shadow of its former self.

Struggling to recover during the Emperor's reign, the IGBC found itself unable to properly modernize its infrastructure. As a result, citizens across the galaxy were left with outdated banking systems and increasingly inefficient financial services.

Now, as the InterGalactic Banking Clan rebuilds its ranks and seeks to usher itself into a new era, it has launched an ambitious modernization initiative. To achieve this goal, the IGBC is calling upon adventurers, entrepreneurs, and skilled citizens from across the galaxy to assist in upgrading its systems. Through direct participation in these efforts, individuals will have the opportunity to help shape the future of galactic banking while contributing to the restoration of one of the galaxy's most influential institutions.

I can support the transfer of credits being made easier (its utility as a credit sink always seemed dubious, since it was consistently bypassed for larger transactions), but I don't know about the mobile bank storage. If it were going to be implemented in any way, a more practical solution, I think, would be a housing item to grant that remote access.

I feel like a housing item would be somewhat redundant for the majority of players as most live in a player city which has at least one banking terminal if not more and makes accessing their bank a lot easier. This would be more for on the go bank access. I do see the issue of having access to another 100 slots of inventory basically for free, however if the safety deposit access is gated behind a 30 or even 60 minute timer, it becomes less of a "default +100 slots" and more of a "Well I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere and really need space, let's call an MVAS and clear some room so I can keep going for a while longer."

If that's the use case, wouldn't that already be better served by droids loaded with storage modules?
Yes and no. The banking feature combined with the safety deposit feature is more of a QOL that one may chose to spend the time and credits on pursuing. It's not something that's merely "go to a vendor and spend 15k on a droid I can call at all times" type deal. The storage droid is also something that can be accessed day one and has the disadvantage of being only 30 storage vs 100 in your bank.

The more I think about it, the more I believe the safety deposit feature should be time gated to avoid simply adding 100 storage to your inventory. The time gate would also make sense in the instance where we may some day have access to a combined bank on all characters as well as maybe the ability to make our bank bigger.

Most mmos already have some sort of feature resembling this, whether it be behind an item, a default feature or behind a pesky paywall. After much thought (Of my own, I might add, and I would welcome anybody else's thoughts on this), I do not feel as if it's a game breaking feature. The safety deposit box is not really a convenient thing to use as it is and, I feel, due to that fact, may even be underused by a lot of players. This would be a way to modernize it while keeping it within the star wars theme and lore (somewhat) while also not making it something simple as a default feature.

If anything... the minigame could be a fun add to a new slicing system.

While this is technically possible i think it would have to be limited to use within NPC/Player city limits to avoid exploitation. Unfortunately use in the open world mean that this is just a 100 slot inventory increase. While that is not truly harmful its redundant with storage droids. It also will require less traveling to hubs which is frowned upon by many.

If implemented timegating would definitely be required. Maybe a 12 hour one would be a good start.

Love the quest line and mini-game Id rather see it used to introduce increased banking storage rather than remote storage.

I agree with your point but I feel like 12h is a little harsh.
With the time gate, I don't know that it would necessarily require less traveling to hubs. You still need doctors, entertainers and bazaar terminals as well as just plain old traveling. Frankly when I stand in the Mos Eisley bank coral, I see a lot more people huddled around the bazaar terminals than the banking ones.

But like I said, after receiving feedback, I do agree that a time gate needs to be implemented and will go ahead and modify my post to include it.
