SWG Restoration has two funds we accept donations towards:

Our Monthly Operating Costs fund helps us pay for monthly recurring expenses, such as the expenses for our server hosting, patch delivery system, and some of the tools our development team uses.

Our Annual Capital Campaign fund helps us pay for expenses related to operating our business that only occur once per year and can be more expensive. We also use this fund for new investments in our services and to build a contingency in case we fall short of our monthly goals.

Donor Recongition
Donating doesn't provide any tangible benefits or preferential treatment. We have, however, set up an automated process that provides an in-game badge to recognize and thank donors for helping to keep our server online. (Note: Badges will be available beginning in late February).

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I set up a subscription/recurring donation?
Yes, after visiting our donation platform and clicking the Donate button, simply select the "Monthly" option instead of the "One-Time" option.
Can my donation be anonymous?
Yes, when completing a donation, the "Leave a message" section is optional, and be sure to check the "Hide my name or amount from public view" box. If you accidentally submit your name and want to remove it, you can contact our donation platform's support team: Givebutter Support.
What are teams? What is the Team Leaderboard?
Teams are groups of individuals that make donations. You can join a team if you want. For example, some guilds have formed teams to show how much they are fundraising for the server together. The Leaderboard reflects the teams that have donated the most. There are no rewards or prizes for participating in a team or ranking on the leaderboard beyond listing on the donation platform.
How does corporate matching work?
We've partnered with a third party that keeps a database of companies who maintain corporate matching programs. When making a donation, under the "Corporate Gift Matching" section, you can enter your employer. If there's a matching program, you'll receive an email with any next steps to complete the match.
What payment methods are accepted?
You can pay with PayPal, Venmo, Google Pay, ACH (direct deposit), or directly with a credit card.

*Donations to SWG Restoration are tax-deductible for residents of the United States, but the tax deductibility, or the usefulness of that deduction, from a donation is determined by your personal tax circumstances and applicable laws. Consult a tax professional for more information. When you donate, your electronic receipt emailed to you will provide a record of your donation and the appropriate tax language for you to use for tax-deduction purposes.
