Greetings Galaxy,
At the beginning of every year, we conduct a review of our Community Standards to identify any adjustments necessary to create and foster an environment that promotes an active, collaborative, passionate, fun, and engaged community. We invite our Galactic Senators and all members of our team to make suggestions for rule changes, which are then considered for implementation. The following is a summary of the changes we've made this year, which are effective immediately. Note that this is only a summary of the changes, so please read the standards directly for specific details. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Community Support.

- Registering Your Account
- Removed "Every account must register with its own physical computer." due to changes in our multi-account detection and prevention mechanics, this is no longer required.
- Language and Communication
- Added clarification that sexually explicit dialogue includes erotic role play, which is not allowed on the server.
- Added an explicit restriction to clarify we do not allow members to share photos or personally identifying information of other players.
- Added an explicit restriction that prohibits discussing or breaking the anonymity of volunteer staff accounts.
- Naming
- Rewrote this section to clarify the types of character names we don't allow, and expanded on a few restrictions for the sake of fairness. Character names (both first and last) may not contain:
- Proper names from the Star Wars universe, including the first or last name of any persona in Star Wars Galaxies or the Star Wars universe (e.g., Skywalker, Greedo, Vader, Exar Kun, Xizor, Fett, Tusken).
- Trademarked names of products, services, or concepts (e.g., Marlboro, Band-Aid).
- Names containing common noun titles within them (e.g., The, Lord, Lady, Master, Sergeant, Commander, Sirtallon, Lordeagle, Mothermaggy, Darksister).
- Removed the direct rule that we will automatically destroy, instead of disabling temporarily and requesting a rename, of objects, characters, guilds, cities, etc. that break the naming rules.
- Rewrote this section to clarify the types of character names we don't allow, and expanded on a few restrictions for the sake of fairness. Character names (both first and last) may not contain:
- Unattended and Automated Gameplay
- Added clarification to the definition of "unattended" that we consider it to be (as defined) for a period greater than thirty minutes.
- Economic Activity
- This new section covers disallowed practices that deceive, defraud, or mislead players, or deny economic opportunity to all players. It also defines specific practices (see the standards) that are disallowed, including hoarding, gouging, artificial inflation, price fixing, and anti-competitive practices.
- Cheating and Exploits
- Removed the rule restricting access to the game to the native Windows Operating System only.
