Proposal
Make it so either no one sees your Jedi buffs or only Jedi can see a Jedi buff on someones bar.
Either hidden from all because everyone wants to stay away from other Jedi who will report them, or groups who will want others to report a Jedi they want killed for the fun of it.
Justification
If Jedi are meant to be hiding and not wearing Jedi clothing or wielding a lightsaber, why would anyone be able to "see" a jedi buff on their bar? It gives them away too easily.
Motivation
Once someone sees the Jedi buff they know someone's a Jedi and it will add to the following to report Jedi or spam reporting when stood with them just in case, when they aren't doing anything currently.
To help combat the issues going on with people reporting any Jedi they see I think this would be a valuable modification.

i personally have not had this issue but then again i am careful about what buffs i have on before i take a shuttle , now if im running around with force armor up , meditation buff , doctor buffs maybe is because im looking for a fight in which case there is a likely scenario where someone will see me anyways , it isnt really difficult to take off your robe (if using the robe/belt buff) , your lightsaber or wait out the meditation buff , im not even sure if there is a way to remove the meditation buff , anyways it just feels like either players are careless or dont care to be seen or just wont bother to make themselves secret

The easier and less intrusive way to solve this, is to leave your jedi buffs at the door if you're going to be seen in public. No?

Being able to see the buffs as a normie is very important for PvP. For example I need to know what shitter jedi don't have force armor in their build, or if they got caught slipping and forgot to put it up.
Nobody being able to see a Jedis force bar already feels powerful, not being able to see the buffs is gonna double down on that.

Ok, how about you can see them inside of PVP, for example if they are SF or you have their bounty because then you are going to know who they are anyway. This is more for those that think they may be being hunted and have buffs on ready in case, any Jedi going around and not being buffed most of the time in a PVP class is probably not doing it right, but this is not to do with the PVP aspect this is to out themselves publicly as Jedi and have people following them to just "Report A Jedi".

There are a number of reasons this isn't feasible or able to be implemented as described:
  • Combat buffs are extremely important to show in PvP. Knowing which defensive buffs a Jedi has up is essential in knowing how to kill them
  • One of the most powerful abilities in the Jedi arsenal (Force Breach) is explicitly used to remove Jedi buffs; they must know which are up, and which were removed by the ability.
  • Even if buffs were hidden, they would still need to be sent down to the game client for things like the accuracy indicator to work; that means that a client-side mod could potentially reveal them.
Since buffs are more of an outside-the-universe game mechanic, and players still have the ability to manage their own buffs if they truly wish to be incognito, this isn't something we'll be implementing.
