Proposal
Make buff bar invisible to others. Make it so that only you can see it.
Justification
It makes fighting others more of a mystery and more difficult.
Motivation
People can look at your buff bar and predict how you are going to fight.
Make buff bar invisible to others. Make it so that only you can see it.

I do not consider difficulty due to lack of information good difficulty. You're essentially asking to remove a strategic facet of pvp gameplay to replace it with trial and error or really hardcore live log parsing. Trial and error gameplay works, when its the same every time and its a method of progression, but that does not fit in a dynamic system like pvp.

I do not consider strategy to be good strategy when all of the information is just given to the enemy. It actually takes away strategy, because all you have to do is look at the buff bar and then you know exactly what to do. Then actual strategy goes out the window. So your argument is just a strawman argument.

What good strategy would be there without seeing buffs. How would a hypothetical fight go? Could you expand on that?

Given the wildly varied amount of buffs and the amount of them people need to be competitive, I don't see how this could be a good idea, especially from a newer player's perspective. This is more likely harmful to pvp as it makes it riskier and would make the game feel more unfair given the lack of information.

New player's perspectives for any new game would be a little daunting...Pvp should be risky, and just because something feels unfair doesn't mean that it is unfair. The lack of information, and the unknown might make you think twice before you jump into a fight, kind of like poker in a way. A fight should be more of a calculated gamble you can go all in or fold. Of course you can also see what armor that person is wearing, what weapon they are using. You can see them heal themselves, and you can also see skill animations to help you decipher what's going on. You can also always assume that a pvp'r is going to have medical buffs along with every other buff known to man.

How would your doc know how or what state's you are in if they cant see the buff or debuff ? if I cant see it I cant fix it.

Huge downvote on this. A major determining factor in pvp is monitoring buffs and debuffs, especially the short duration high impact buffs and debuffs. That is the big skill factor in determining how fight goes.

Thanks for your suggestion! We've already publicly shared we would not take this action because part of the combat functionality of the game necessarily relies on seeing the buffs of other players and such is consistent with how we've designed our combat systems.
