Proposal
New Senate Position - Community Wellbeing

Often we sometimes feel alone, isolated, bullied, or simply ignored. Guilds can sometimes be a closed shop, with cliques that makes it hard for the few to integrate and involve themselves. Therefore the position of this senator would be someone who can mediate within guilds of any issues (be it a discord chat to go over the problem and find a solution or a simply one on one discussion about an agreed means to overcome the problem). The position can be someone to have a quick chat with, to encourage them in ways to enjoy the game and how best to overcome any interperonal problem.

Of course the role is limited, it cannot help with mental illness, financial, marital or relationship issues, it can only deal with problems on a more personal level that the Senator can help alleviate within the game.
Justification
Myself, I am married for 11 years, twin girls aged two born from IVF, same time as my father passing and I have very few friends because people drift away with a busy life. I have some perspective and I understand how isolating and lonely it can get and how it's hard to fit in sometimes with guilds, which is often imperative if you wish to enjoy some of the content.
I would personally put myself forward for this position once I reach the six month pllaytime mark and would be very grateful if this position was created with any advice on defining roles and responsibilities, even if it is awarded to someone else.
Motivation
I think this sort of Senator would enable us to keep more players, provide a better playing experience and really stand us out from the crowd of other servers.
I like to propose the creation of an additional Senate position that deals primarily with the community wellbeing. PlayerVoice is a great feature of this service but often it revolves around improvements to gameplay and doesn't necessarily help address some needs of some players in some things.

We all know people who play SWG and similar MMORPG games to help them with their lives, to socialise, to perhaps address something they feel is missing in their lives, perhaps like in my case play as a hobby. Some treat the game as a second like, others a more casual affair. We all take something different from this game and I'd like to see a Senator in place to help assist the improvement in their wellbeing inside and in some cases outside the game.

Thanks for reading.

While it is a good idea or good intentions at least and we kinda have a Senate Position NPE but this idea would not really be able to implement for a number of reasons. You could maybe expand the NPE position a little but most of this just would not work really. There are a few guilds you might consider that are very member oriented you might find fits your needs here.

While I do not want to downvote this, it is not something I would support.
Ingame you can flag yourself as a helper, you can make yourself vocal and reach out as a player to other players, the same for on discord.
I do not think we need someone branded to do this as much as those who agree to the sentiment need to JUST DO IT.

Thanks for your suggestion! Our New Player Experience (NPE) senator's remit includes helping to create a welcoming environment and making onboarding and community integration easier for new players. But as mentioned here, inter and intraguild politics isn't something we'd create a formal role to insert someone into. In general, it's often the case that if a behavior from a guild is becoming disruptive or harmful to the community, it will make its way to our Discord and the Senate anyways. But the community needs to self-police issues like that and set the standard for what behaviors are acceptable, it's not a limitation we could reasonably or practically impose.

I would suggest reaching out to our NPE Senator, Banth, over Discord if there's any particular behaviors or issues you've experienced as part of getting onboarded into the community. Feel free to also reach out to me directly if you have a specific concern you want to address. But at bottom, this isn't a type of senate seat we'd add so I'll be closing this request.
