QOL improvement - Automatic Fill Reset After 4+ Hours Logged Out

Proposal
Implementing a mechanic that automatically empties a player's food/drink fill meter if the player has been logged out for more than 4 continuous hours.
Justification
Currently, players must manually wait for their food/drink fill to reduce in real-time, even if they’ve been logged out for hours or days. This can be frustrating, especially for players who:
  • Accidentally logged out with a full fill bar.
  • Took a break or were disconnected unexpectedly.
  • Returned later but are unable to consume new buffs due to lingering fill.
This mechanic disproportionately affects casual and returning players, especially those engaging with buff-heavy content like PvP or heroics.
Motivation
  • Improves QoL: Less punishment for logging out with active buffs or accidentally full fill bars.
  • Player Retention: Encourages casual players to return without friction.
  • Aligns with Theme: Reflects realistic metabolism—your body doesn’t stay full after 4+ hours of sleep or travel!
.

This is a great idea.

I'd suggest even just making it so the fill timers tick regardless of whether you are logged in or not. I think the tick is every 18s so a full fill takes approx 30 minutes and also keep the food timers ticking too whilst logged out.

This would be great. Would suggest it might need to be balanced by removing food buffs after the 4 hour window too, or food buffs continuing to tick if fill reduction continued to tick after logout (for WookieUK's suggestion) so there isn't a benefit to loading up on buffs before logging out (and coming back to empty fill but still with the buffs)

Yeah that’s why I went with the 4 hours instead of 30 minutes, to prevent people having easy access to stacking buffs then coming back with empty fill.

I would like the foods to stay as they are ideally but open to suggestions.

From a chef standpoint, people will still eat foods and if anything eat more as in the current state when you logout full you can’t eat anything when you load in anyway.

I say no to this only because you'd have to also make the food/drink buffs remove so it's balanced. That would in turn make it harder to log on and be ready to jump straight into content. For instance if you get pinged in discord to hop on for pvp. You'd hop on and have 0 food/drink buffs. You'd then have to pop them all and show up with full fill. A lot of people will pre-buff the long hour food/drink and wait a few minutes before logging out, so when they log in they have ~40 minutes left on those buffs with almost no fill so they can then pop the short ones and hop straight into the fight.

That's why I didn’t mention food buffs being lost and set the timer to 4 hours instead of 30 minutes. If fill doesn't decrease while logged out, it doesn't really fix the issue—because, for example, if you log out right after PvP, then log back in later for another session, you'll still have high fill from the previous time and end up being fairly ineffective. I'm definitely open to other suggestions though—maybe something like losing 50% fill while logged out. Since SoR and other buff timers reset when you're offline, I was hoping we could apply a similar approach here.

If fill clears after X amount of time, players will just pop buffs the night before and then log on the next day for content with full buffs and no fill.

Players already do this with their Jedi when they ghost themselves the day before heroics so that they can have full lives the next day.
