Proposal
If there are units that can attack other players in the same faction it should be mercenary style units and not faction specific units.
Justification
It does not make sense that a rebel or imperial special forces unit would be able to attack a rebel especially that is not flagged for special forces.
Motivation
Same faction Bounty Hunters that are hunting their own faction players, are exploiting this in player bounties. Especially using them against Jedi that are of the same faction.
The special force unit summon to help in combat is flawed. It needs to be reworked especially for Bounty Hunters. It does not make any sense that someone who is rebel can summon their own forces to attack another rebel. That defeats the purpose of faction specific units. These units should not be able to attack and target same faction players.

Great PV. I think it's important to implement this change so players of all skill levels have a better chance against those pesky bhs!

Its not a skill level issue. BH's are easy, but when 5 jump you and then deploy 5 rebel special forces units to fight a rebel it defeats the point of having faction units. They should only be able to target imperials and imperial special forces only targeting rebels. Or jedi class cant pick a faction. It defeats being on a faction if you can just use them to attack your own faction members.

Ah sorry to hear about that. Good luck with your PV.

As a reminder, Jedi is an opt-in PvP class that with high enough Visibility is hunted by player Bounty Hunters, including by those on the 'same side'. BH's may group together to improve their odds of success against a particular target. This is encouraged against Jedi targets, as Jedi are generally more powerful than a single BH.

When you were hunted, only I deployed my Rebel Squad. The Rebel Squad is a Rebel General's personal strikeforce, who will attack and defend whatever target their General tells them to (the Imps have a stormtrooper version as well). This Squad is usable for PvE or PvP and is gained by reaching the General Rank in the GCW. There is therefore no exploit as you claim by using this ability against you in a PvP Bounty Mission. Rebel Squad is not limited to targeting and attacking Special Forces targets.

In the future, I would suggest staying off the Bounty Boards by keeping your Visibility low if you do not wish to be hunted by other players.

The units are under the command of the officer who spawned them. They are following orders. This feature is working as intended.
