Proposal
Make all city placed storyteller props permanent, make walls solid, and available in half size, create stages in not just wood but concrete and brick styles.
Justification
More player cities are becoming decorated and it takes much time and planning to set the scenery and specific items disappear after 24 hours such as ships and some other props even NPC characters. in keeping with themes of the city decoration these items must be replaced every 24 hours. some areas of a city cannot have structures built on them but storyteller props fill that void and make it look aesthetically pleasing. stages are mostly used as walkways over land elevations and create paths. different patterns and materials like brick and concrete would add more flavor to the city. designing walls in a city is also a challenge as certain areas could use a half wall size. I know in Game cities this is done such as in Corellia cities. walls that are solid like the stair props would be a nice affect and direct traffic in cities and keep toons from falling off decks or walled off ledges. a more pleasing city decor will help the city sustain itself by travelers and more usage and draw citizens to live in the city I am sure many of the mayors and people who live in the Player cities would agree to these upgrades. I know that the intention of the Story Teller was not city deco and the game itself but many like to design and decorate their houses. and this holds true now to the cities. I like traveling very much to different cities and veiwing the decoration and layout. I understand that the devs. have their hands full designing the new planet release in 2026 but maybe they could find time to make a few small tweaks to the props.
Motivation
Paying for a city is quite expensive and a draw to gain more visitors and citizens depends on the theme and look of the city. and paying for the cost of a single 6000 cr prop that disappears in 24 hours would cost the player 2,190,000 credits per year plus the time to replace every 24 hours which if you have multiple items in the city that have to be replaced could take away from just playing the game. the goal to this game is to have fun and immerse yourself in story the game will only get better with more players I have played for over 2.5 years on this server. and have seen just a small rise in player population. anything to draw in more players would be beneficial and city decoration is part of it. after being released over 20 years ago this game is the most unique sand box out there today even though the graphics are not the greatest and the game is glitchy at times. SWGR has revived a lost diamond it only needs polishing from time to time. thank you for you consideration, Alathorn Caladon Guild leader of Balance Of Power. and Mayor Joktan Of new Caladonia
I am wondering since many cities have been decorating using the storyteller items that do not disappear after twenty four hours. that some of the other objects such as starships can be set to permanent status in cities. as well as some effects. I am creating a look for my city that has several levels that I am setting up as a starport, but placing and paying for ships every 24 hrs. is time consuming and costly. even if it is possible they only decay after 30 days would be great. and also the stages are nice but what if they could be concrete like the city streets or brick style. and a half length wall would be awesome I have noticed that stairs have a solid effect to them as well, it would be nice to have walls that were solid too.
