Not Implemented Other New Player Experience Add a drop-down box to choose XP type for Quest Completion

This idea/suggestion has been flagged as Not Implemented because of a lack of popularity, lack of interest, lack of feasibility, or other determination by the Development Team, so the suggestion will not be implemented. Once a suggestion has been flagged this way, the decision is final. Although the issue may be raised again in the future after a six month cooldown. The proposal is to add a dropdown box either to the Journal or to the quest complete pop-up window to select what type of XP you gain for completing quests. Currently you only earn XP based on the weapon you are holding when you complete the quest, meaning there is no way currently to earn some forms of XP for completing quests. For example, you cannot earn Medical XP or Creature Handler XP.
The types of XP that are able to be gained by doing this could be limited to certain types, but having the choice to get other types would be a big improvement.
This would be a great QoL change for people who enjoy questing and also give a better way of levelling certain professions outside of spinning.
It would also make completing the Legacy quests more worthwhile for newer players who are trying to level professions that use XP other than standard weapon XP.
Currently a LOT of XP from completing quests is simply wasted because you always simply get given the XP of the weapon you are currently holding, this would make completing quests more worthwhile for anyone levelling a new profession.
This change would positively impact the experience of completing quests to try and level new professions, and feel a lot less like you are simply wasting large chunks of XP when you hand them in.
This was briefly discussed via discord but would love to hear more thoughts on this here!

this isn’t the right fix to address the root issue, the root issue is that we don’t track the types of XP you earn while completing the tasks of a quest. Our planned redesign for this experience would split the grants of experience based on what you actually use/do during the quest as it should rather than just relying on equipped weapon at the time of completion or letting players just choose which XP to get.

This isn’t currently on the roadmap but I’ll try to get it slotted into 1.2 or shortly thereafter.
