Open PvP Being able to heal others through BH TEF

This idea/suggestion is Open. You can respond to ask questions or discuss the idea and either vote it up or down if you believe it should or should not be implemented, respectively. Popular suggestions and ideas will be considered by the development team to become reality in-game.

Proposal
Background
When hit by BH you are put into a TEF locked with that player/s so no one else can heal you and you cannot heal them. Interestingly, this TEF takes priority completely over Special Forces flag which is the bedrock of the pvp game, leading to you being unable to heal or be healed by your own group in a PvP fight.

(This seems backwards and SF TEF should take priority, this is NOT the subject of this PV but would be great for any comments on this in general as there are complexities - as well as comments on the primary proposal.)
Justification
There is no logic in being unable to heal other players simply because a BH is attacking you. Normal on leave/combatant/special forces rules to apply.
Motivation
Less clearing of bounties to reduce impact in pvp, less exploitation of BH TEF in PvP (intended or unintended)

PROPOSAL:

As the TARGET of a BOUNTY HUNTER MISSION, You are now able to heal other players normally. You still CANNOT receive heals from other players.

This has been talked about on this PV site over and over again and the end result, as it should be, has always been leaving it the experience it was meant to be. The end result of this will no longer be a BH hunt experience and only group PvP, which we already have. We then would NOT have a unique experience that ONLY exists in SWG in trade for an experience that already exists not only in SWG, but elsewhere as well.

Still a huge NO THANK YOU from me. Learn some tactics instead. If you PvP, you're choosing to be hunted, which means you're prey, which means you accept that risk. Plain and simple.

i echo the sentiment from the above post , leave it as is , what you advocate is to open up a whole new can of worms , meaning the original game group TEF mechanics which i dont think is the direction the Dev team wants to go , otherwise it would have been implemented way before Jedi showed up , so it a downvote from me

Especially once Jedi start reaching full power/ Master. That would basically mean the Jedi don't get hunted.

Whilst I have no problem the bh mark healing the group he is with.

He should not receive any healing from the other group members, I feel this is your actual intentions with this PV.

So with this in mind I will have to downvote the idea sorry.

Please explain to me why I should not be able to heal other players in my group, when we are all flagged SF, fighting another group of SF?

Because someone shot me?

The PV is for the BH TARGET to be able to heal others.

Not going to upvote as I don't agree with it fully, but also not going to downvote.. however I do have some comments about BH and TEF and how they behave with eachother.


Anything regarding TEF, tbh, is rather complicated when you consider:
the combat system in general
balancing things with TEF in mind

I think the only way to approach the whole BH hunting is to actually go the other way and lock out BH's attacking people if the others have engaged in combat recently.
For example, you cannot enter a house while you have TEF applied to you - During that window, you shouldn't be able to attack someone as part of the BH system. That is the only way to go about all the TEF issues that live in the current state of the combat system, HOWEVER, there are ways then to circumvent BH missions, as in you could get someone to hit you and then the BH cannot engage, but I think that is a lot more edge case to circumvent overall.

how do you communicate to the BH's they can't be attacked ? a system message or a comm message , perhaps "it would be against the BH code to pursue that target in their current state" or something. Or maybe to actually engage someone you have to first 'bounty check' them like you do the NPC and then that engages the combat towards them (which won't let you check them under the circumstancs I said previously)

If you're afraid as a healer that the BH system that you OPTED into by engaging in PvP might make you unavailable for heals, then it sounds like maybe find some offhealers? Another healer? Hand out stims just in case? There are lots of options here to change your tactics...

Like everyone else, I stopped reading after the first sentence then immediately went looking for a video that I know of that had 10 or so master healer Jedi pumping heals into their afk friend who was the bounty target. I gave up looking for it then came back to post and actually read it only to find that you're specifically talking about outgoing heals from the bounty target only.

This protects group pvp and helps against the lame strategy of people picking up bounties only to disrupt the heals of the other side at the expense of really no one else.

I think it would be a fine change, I'm just skeptical devs would want to touch it. I'll upvote regardless.

as someone else mentioned already YOU opted in to be a Jedi and all the stuff that comes with it , if you want to continue healing your group then dispatch the BH and continue healing to your heart's content, or i don't know have a back up healer , many ways to go address the issue , easiest one is have more healers

Kay isn’t a Jedi he is talking about normal bh marks.

same thing , have a back up healer then , not hard to figure out , if you happen to be the ONLY main healer and a BH comes for just when you are in the middle of a pvp fight then , tough luck , add another healer or dispatch the BH , either way the solutions are there if ppl just think
