Proposal
What is the Prepatch-9 Tef System?

When a factional combatant attacks an enemy faction's NPC or Structure, they gain a 5 minute invisible buff that makes enemies who are overt or officer able to engage, attack, and defeat them. This also goes for neutrals who also engage factional content and can damage factional NPCs.
When a Bounty Hunter attacks a Jedi; anyone grouped with the Jedi can engage the Bounty Hunter or anyone else who assists them and heal the Jedi. If the Bounty Hunter is group leader and an ally death blows the target, it counts towards the Bounty Hunter's Mission.
When a Jedi attacks a bounty hunter; anyone grouped with the Bounty Hunter can heal the bounty hunter and assist in killing the Jedi or anyone else who assists them.
When a Jedi gets their vision Tef; IE: Using the Force, ectect, saber. They become "yellow" like an NPC, and anyone can attack them; likewise anyone the Jedi is grouped with can attack the attacker and defend them and heal the Jedi. That means someone can group with the Jedi to engage them. I propose for this server the person defending the Jedi also gets "vision" like the Jedi, and Inquisitors and the like also go after them.

Justification
Simple. It is the most fair and simple system. It may not be the best system ever made, but it stops almost all the problems the system has. It stops griefing for Jedi and Bounty Hunters and stops griefing for bases, and stops griefing for invasions. It might be forced PvP but the concept of factions were designed around players to engage each other.

It is also very lore accurate, and back then made the game a lot more interesting as PvP could happen anywhere. It also made "Jedi Hunting Partys" a thing, which was actually a pretty fun concept back in the day, the developers may even be able to do a "share bounty" system for the players who help the Bounty Hunter.

This will also help PvE as well, as every time I do PvE I can't even heal the Jedi due to vision and the lack of a Tef and buddy system.

It also prevents the "clone" bug that happens at times when your able to engage an enemy player or npc after cloning. This sucks a lot.

I don't want to take up too much space, but honestly it is the most fair and simple system.

" When a Bounty Hunter attacks a Jedi; anyone grouped with the Jedi can engage the Bounty Hunter or anyone else who assists them and heal the Jedi" Jedi can take care of themselves fine the last thing needed is more carebear mechanics for Jedi

I think that a blanket TEF system can work in a universe where there's a strong PvP culture and the entire server is on board with it from the beginning. There are a few other servers who do this, and you're welcome to check them out.

Unfortunately, that's not this universe. PvP here needs to come with consent. Anytime that flagging for PvP is incentivized or forced, people just get pissed off and have a bad time. SOE learned this lesson and we are not going to change it back. PvP should be between people who want to PvP. It's fun!. But you're not entitled to kill any player you want just because that's your preferred playstyle.

There are very specific situations where TEFs are appropriate, and I'm exploring those for some upcoming content, but it's not going to ever be a server-wide system.
