This idea/suggestion has been flagged as Not Implemented because of a lack of popularity, lack of interest, lack of feasibility, or other determination by the Development Team, so the suggestion will not be implemented. - Proposal
Cancel the 5 minute timer if they engage with watch tower terminals or SF PvP combat (not from bounties) so that they have to go back to a recruiter or type /pvp (non-officer) after they finish combat.
- Justification
If you go to a recruiter to flag down or type /pvp, then your plans should be to go somewhere safe to either log out or continue the game as "on leave". Unfortunately, it is being used to protect themselves as they intentionally go out to flip a watchtower or engage in PvP just before the timer reaches zero.
- Motivation
It is being abused by Jedi that have much to lose in GCW, but want this protection that if they survive for 5 minutes (easy to do as a Jedi), they will be flagged down by the time they flip the tower and/or kill 1 or 2 normies.
- At the moment, members from a faction are able to flag up SF, and immediately talk to a recruiter or type /pvp (non gcw officers) to start the 5-minute flag down process.
- During these 5 minutes, you can still resume PvP or take over a gcw watch tower without it affecting the timer.
- Once the 5 minutes are up, you are "on leave", even if you were in the middle of combat. Yes, the TEF may continue for a bit but any additional opposing faction members will not be able to attack or defend their teammate.

Kinda sounds like we just need gtef
I'm closing this because this is a bug, not an intended behavior. Engaging in PvP activity should stop the PvP flag-down timer. Support will begin an investigation regarding existing offenders abusing this mechanic, especially regarding towers.
