Open Combat Combat Overhaul Suggestions

Combat Overhaul Suggestions:
- Increase base accuracy/defense for all classes. Seeing +3 to accuracy or +5 feels way too low in the current meta and defensiveness everyone has.

- Add more defensive CD's to classes, like carbineer suppression fire can increase your defense equal to enemies hit.

- Cycling Buffs is a fun playstyle that could be tested with Squad Leader, having the group buffs on way longer CDs but being able to stack them would be fun and interesting.

- Return of OGCD Skills: Taunts, Cures, Certain Attack+Debuffs (Like Fencer Blind Attack), Bacta Jab (Weak Heal, Shares CD with Stim), Grenades (can reduce damage if that is an issue.).

- Lower the Skill Points of Starting Professions to be the same cost as Elite Professions: Jedi only takes 24 points, it takes 43 to get Novice Pistoleer.

- Taunts should force an enemy to target you for 1.5 seconds.

- Advanced Bleed Attack / Torso Shot shouldn't be a lower bleed than a Creature Handler's Pet, make it a stacking Bleed Effect.

- CoB/Aura way more CD, being Glancing Blow instead of Miss.

- Intimidate Should increase Threat and Debuff.

- Sharpshooter Tree (And beyond) getting Forms similar to Lightsaber Tree:
Outlaw Stance: +Ranged Attack Proc
Quickdraw Stance: +Combat Speed
Sniper Stance: +Accuracy
Vanguard Stance : +Defense


- Action Healing: OGCD: Example=Reload, restores Action bar.

- Mind Healing: OGCD: Example=Squad Leader inspiring shout.

- Make Mind Regeneration debuffs also reduce Force Regeneration at a reduced rate.

- Overhealing shouldn't count or cause threat, only the amount healed. If that can't work, lower it to 25%.

- Self-Healing (Good Self Healing) should be more accessible at just Medic, or even other classes. (I think Smuggler should be xxx4 Medic (Drug Tree) instead of Brawler and be Sawbones like SWTOR.

Justification
Enemies hit way too hard, the meta is very stale (everyone falling to be as defensive as possible.), certain classes just are not played as much and the gameplay has boiled down to a few ways to play. I want more variety and more fun! I really love what was done to Jedi and I just wanted to throw out a bunch of points that I think could really add to the game.

I will however go over each suggestion and reason for it:

Increase base accuracy/defense for all classes: It is way too low, it makes buffs that greatly increase things too valuable not to have. This is why everyone plays the same things.

Adding more Defensive CDs: Adds a higher skill cap and allows other classes besides TK to be played, and allows you to lower the CD of CoB. Is more fun.

Cycling Buffs: It is fun to use all your abilities.

Return of OGCD Skills: Using skills like taunt or cures feels really bad to use when there are such better options, their CDs could be increased a lot to compensate. It allows more coordination and de-buffs to be weaved between attacks, or burst damage. It raises the skill cap and is why WoW is fun.

Lower the Skill Points of Starting Professions: Allows for more combination of skills and even new classes to be added. Pushes normies to be a little closer to Jedi.

Taunts: Allows for them to be useful in PvP.

Bleeding: Way too low DOT damage.

CoB/Aura: Allows counterplay with debuffs.

Intimidate Threat: Just makes sense. Your the more threatening target!

Sharpshooter Tree Stances: Lightsaber Forms were extremely fun to play with, I want to see it in other parts of the game.

Mind/Action Healing: More combat variety.

Normy Force Regen Debuffs: Makes sense, force is tied to body, body weaken, force weakened.

Self-Healing: You shouldn't need 4xxx Doc or CM to play the game. It also gives everyone access to AOE healing. If they got self healing earlier, you can keep the group healing in CM/Doc only.

Motivation
I want to see the combat as fun as possible and I took a lot of time to make sure that these suggestions were not a waste of time to read. I just wish I could write more precisely.

Combat in the game I feel needs a lot of work, especially for non-Jedi classes as it is very apparent they can't really even complete right now, the meta is very stale at the moment.

The problem I feel with Jedi isn't just that they are strong, normal de-buffs do little to them if nothing.

Why so? Melee Smuggler isn't really a spec atm. Smuggler's use pistols for a majority of their abilities, I think only two of their many skills can be used with melee and it's a debuff, not a weapon skill. Not really any different.

Unless the TK meta has gone that far out of hand and you are 1x3x for the debuffs.

It can be done I suppose, but its not like you would lose power from it because you still need healing, so even with my idea it would be similar.
Well see adding a tree is completely different from getting rid of Brawler. Also you keep on about healing and it is obvious it comes from a pvp view. Self healing with Stim D's works and if you think they need adjusting suggest it. But making a class, any class, totally self suficient goes against the way the game was made. We are supposed to be dependant on each other for some things and if you take some things you can't have other things. With pve being so easy your idea falls flat unless you are trying to make everything soloable.

Also I think, would have to check to be sure, I can be Master Smuggler/TKM/ with plenty left over for Medic or whatever.....funky build? yes but thats the point for pve/RP. They don't all need to be perfect or great just so it works in pvp. Unique is a word the described SWG from day one on Live and it should hopefully stay that way,

With that said adding an OPTIONAL tree to smuggler as in you can take this or that might be ok but stil runs the risk of being unbalanced. We are supposed to be dependant on each other in this game. What my build lacks other builds in the group make up for.

If you want my take: all bounty hunter skills should be also be able to be used in melee.

Bounty Hunters are out to kill the mark (in this game) and Smugglers are out to smuggle and get away. Again with the BH trying to give a class stuff so it doesn't have to rely on others/cover a weak spot. And messing with the BH can also mess with the future plan For Jedi/Inquisitor/BH piece.
 
Now this is just imo. Things in this game should be harder (kinda like Live in the first few weeks hard). Right now 90% of the game is super easy. Max level in a day or less which makes all the lower level stuff even easier. Burn through the content and many folks leave at that point. Want better pvp? We need more folks so a % will go to that. Things should be a challenge and an accomplishment once you have completed it. Your suggestions mainly come across as making things easier not necessarily better. Almost everyone does pve to some extent but only a small % pvp so keep in mind that when you adjust something in one in can and will impact the other and often in ways not thought of. Want to help make the game better by a lot? Help find a way to get the server more articles in things like pcgamer and such; find ways to get more people to come and stay. There will always be hit and run folks but a % always stays as well.

You don't play Smuggler it seems. Mine is Master Underworld Smuggler/Master Pistoleer/4xxx CM (I think that is right for the cm). Why would I need to LOSE points to the medic tree for healing when I have BOTH group and self healing with this build?

Also smugglers can make spice, slice armor, weapons and terminals. We now have MUS specific quests we can run and we have Smuggler content coming with the Syndicate Swell. No need to mess with that at all. Oh and those MUS quest pay more if you take the pvp quest which I do. My smuggler has escaped a few times when the BH has shown and attacked me. Key word escaped not go toe to toe with someone who is buffed/food/drink/etc ready to kill a class not meant to be front line fighter. The BH wins if I stay to fight usually.

I’m not going to address every single one of these bullet points but your entire premise is to introduce copious amounts of power creep. That hasn’t worked for any game in the history of ever. Part of the issue (again, I’m not sure how many times I’ve said it) with asking for such drastic changes is that we already know we’re getting meta-breaking equipment in the form of heroic gear, so problems you may feel are current may have already been solved in that area.

There were a few of your PVs which you kept concise and as a result you received much positive feedback from both players and devs, I’m not sure why we’re regressing?

I agree with this 100%

I have a similar build. I don't have the full tree in CM simply because I like still harvesting animals for my crafters. BUT, that is the point too. I don't want to HAVE to run a certain spec just to do the PvE content in the game. I want to make a character to suit my style of play. I'll do the slower grind on the MUS missions and avoid the PvP since my guy is not geared for it. I don't want him to be. I don't want to play that way.

I am looking forward to the new content coming because I want to operate moe in the shadows and stay 'hidden' more. I'm 100% content to let the "Han Solos" of the galaxy get all the attention. I'll be in the shadows quietly moving my goods

If you want to make Smugglers better, do what some others have and make some suggestions about the Spice so it can be more useful and used in the game. Right now Spice is mostly ignored except for a few
