The current aesthetic of the imperial shocktrooper armor is inaccurate and does not exist in Star Wars canon. Further, the canon design is more elegant, less plain, and less bulky.

To comply with Star Wars lore and bring a fresh look to one of the most unpopular armor sets in the game.

So on appearance matters, swg is the first appearance of shock trooper armor, so if anything it has precedence(2003). Thus the lore/canon argument falls flat to me.(Even though swg is actually Legends, so we are completely off base from canon anyways)
The armor is cool design though and I would love to see it in pmac to get added to the game.
Our server’s art direction is predominantly taken from materials created prior to 2012 (“legends”). If you take a look at the “legends” depiction of this armor, you’ll find it largely resembles the armor available in-game:
