What can I help you with?" - Gendra, New Player NPC One of our strategic pillars for the next phase of our project is centered around building a best-in-class New Player Experience. Implementation of the tutorial and beginning to rework the structure of the legacy is just one of our first steps to help new players get acquainted with the galaxy. Star Wars Galaxies is a big and complicated game, so there’s a lot of work to do to get a player educated about how the game works if they haven’t played before or have been away for a while, especially given the number of core mechanic changes unique to Restoration. Our Special Envoy for New Player Experience in the Galactic Senate, Banth, has also been instrumental in helping us identify and remove “papercuts,” or small frustrations that can pile up. We’ve seen exciting and positive results so far in better easing players into the game and look forward to more changes our design team is working on that help increase retention and get players up to speed faster.-Aconite, Developer
"Now, witness the power of this fully operational battle station" Last week, SWG Restoration players have been fighting across Endor and Yavin IV competing for prizes and determining who the ultimate Battlefield victors are. Battlefields are a great way to start dipping your toes into PvP as the team numbers are even and players can practice with very little consequence due to decay reduction options introduced this year. We've seen many new players join in on the fun and are excited to share the results of the competition!

"A longstanding Wookiee tradition, Life Day celebrates the values and tenets of Wookiee culture, including family, joy, and harmony. While Life Day is a celebration traditionally held at the Tree of Life on Kashyyyk and observed by extended Wookiee families, Wookiees throughout the galaxy still mark the day. When Wookiees were enslaved by the Empire, the holiday took on an even greater significance. Today, people from planets across the galaxy have embraced this tradition and made it their own by celebrating with festive décor, twinkling string lights, unique food and drink items, music, and activities. People share the hopes of celebrating freedom, harmony, and peace, no matter how different people may appear. At the end of the day, everyone gathers to sing songs and be reminded of their dedication, courage, and love for one another. This is the promise of the Tree of Life."

This time, however, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Pharples had had enough... People for the Ethical Treatment of Pharples Acklays, Nexus, and Reeks, oh my! Congratulations to Floyd the Nexu! What started out as a typical beast tournament turned sideways as protestors started to show up! At the conclusion of the tournament, this anti Bio-Engineer community rose up and unleashed their own creations against them in an all out battle for survival!
The lair of the Queen of Mustafar has recently been uncovered at the end of the Tulrus Nesting Grounds. A special antidote to protect you from the lethal environment of the lair can only be applied via the Omniglobular Syringe. Beware as this ghastly arachnid has an learned a few new tricks... "Finally... The Sher Kar is here. And, listen, it would have been pretty anticlimactic if we released it after all this time without making some improvements to what was overall a pretty minor and forgettable instance in the live game. So we rewrote the entire script and created some brand new mechanics to make this into a challenging and rewarding fight with a few unique twists. It will test your communication and your loyalty... The Sher Kar is as beautiful as she is terrifying. And hungry."
"Look sir – Droids!" The second part of our Mustafar Series coincides with LAVAFEST where the lockout timers are getting thrown out with the oil bath. Enjoy unlimited Mustafar runs and more chances for loot all weekend long! “Droid Army is where we decided to really pump the gas on making these instances fun and challenging. Every enemy is stronger, every attack comes more quickly. This turns it into a race that requires team coordination and speed in order to hold off a relentless attack, forcing you to stay ahead lest you become overwhelmed.”
“Don’t fail me again… Admiral…” The much-anticipated implementation of Officer Ranks has arrived at Restoration. Developers have taken classic components of both Officer Ranks and Base Busting and woven them together into a custom system centered around region defense and planetary control in order to maintain higher ranks. As you climb the ranks the demands grow greater as do the powerful abilities…
“It's the ship that made the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs...” Jump to Lightspeed has recently kicked into overdrive. Pilots of the Galaxy can now enjoy meaningful boosts to Duty Tokens as well as custom Group Convoy and new Duty Mission content. Grab your hydrospanners and let's open up the hood! Duty Token Boosts Duty Tokens are finally getting their day in the suns. One of the most up-voted Player Voices has now been implemented (https://swgr.org/post/space-duty-mission-token-overhaul.618/) and Players will reap more benefit by completing Duty Missions. Tier III+ missions were the focus and have received the most meaningful buffs to base Duty Token payout.
