Implemented forced PVP

Proposal
not force special forces from off duty
Justification
not all players do PVP
Motivation
just like to play pve
Need to move the forced PVP away from any trainers, banks, starports shuttleports, or make it where do don't go from being on leave to special forces. otherwise you are taking risk of all the none PVP either taking this time off or just stop playing.

I agree. I don't care for PVP myself and it shouldn't be forced on random players just traveling to a starport.

Posted it in Discord, but thought I would here as well..

My thought on the Starport Camping, don't reduce the Radius of the Forced PvP, but Make the Starport Excempt from Forced PvP.. kind of a no Auto Flag Zone. You can Flag up if you want and still be attacked in there if you do, but you are not forced to flag unless you leave the Starport. (edited)

That Way Passaer-bys don't get Randomly Attacked, unless they choose to Flag up or leave the Starport, at which point they are fair game.

I agree with everything behind the forced PVP decision, however the execution was terrible. There's gotta be a better way. Make it so the general and all NPCs within 120m can't take damage from non-flagged people or something.

Pretty sure the starport happened to be an innocent victim of a quick fix to stop some invasion 'exploits' (not sure if that would be the right word in this situation). I'm sure something will be done to adjust it in the near future.. hopefully. People just need to be a little more conscious of the cities with invasions and when they're occurring. I can say with pretty good certainty that the changes weren't put in place to intentionally screw over the random person walking through a starport. Give it a little time.

you could always be combatant in the space port and shoot out if it were made exempt which would defeat the initial purpose of the pvp zone. pretty much need to have the auto-flag ignore people on leave or some other method of them not being allowed to participate while not SF

Very true, very true.. I admit, that never crossed my Mind. Very good point.. and I agree with you...

could just force all combants to "on leave" and not force people on leave to be special forces. this would make sure you would like to fight in the city invasions, and keep a low lv or crafter from being killed just trying to get thru the city..

maybe the 120m radius should only apply to Keren rather than Bestine and Deric. make the Radius in those citys 65m instead? I kow both Bestine and Deric have space trainers (Deric Cantina and Bestine City Hall as well as a guild hall) but then again to to get to the Bestine Trainers or pilot co-ordinator you will prob have to go thru the PVP radius even if its set at 64m

In an upcoming patch, we will transition the system to only force players who are overt/combatant into declared/special forces status so players who are on leave are not impacted by the invasion radius. We will also make adjustments such that players who are on leave cannot participate in any part of invasions.

We will not make further changes to this system to accommodate edge cases. Players can simply avoid cities with active invasions by using /gcw to check if one is ongoing. The reality of the galactic civil war is becoming usurped into a skirmish is a possibility, and such is an intended mechanic of the server.
