Proposal
To encourage more player events, I'd like to propose that event creators and attendees recieve a low amount (under 100) of Fortitiude Tokens.
Justification
By giving even a low amount of Fortitude Tokens to players for attending player-run events and a higher amount to the creators/administrators of the event, I believe that it will encourage participation and an influx of more community driven ideas to help us grow our amazing community a bit more.
Motivation
Having been a major player in creating player events in the past, it was tireless and sometimes thankless, it's tedious and there's a ton of work that goes into the creation and organization of even a weekly event series. I think that encouraging our creative player base to make their own events with a small recompense would be beneficial to our community.
Player-hosted events keep this server alive and there are plenty of them, from the High Ground competitions to Kreetles nights, to Spin Sunday's this community actively encourages the creation and participation in player events. What if we could do more?

This suggestion has been implemented. Votes are no longer accepted.
We randomly provide fortitude tokens at player gatherings we see advertised occasionally (such as at one of the scheduled fireworks shows this past week). However, we will not guarantee them at any specific cadence because, in this application, they are intended to be a passive reward for the community coming together, not an incentive to organize events.

Exactly, I'm proposing to incentivize events for the work that goes into them.

If not for the participants, then at least for the creator. (And no, not asking for past events to be considered. I don't have a Bantha in this race anymore.)

I'd like a better system to get tokens period that isn't just logging in or attending events. Playing the game should get them too.

Right now the incentive is logging in once (1 second) on all 4 chars, then attend some events that happen some times. That is the opposite of playing the game.

I feel like this stuff should be a top off of a main way to get tokens, not the only way.

I 100% disagree with this premise.

The rewards you get from logging in regularly and participating in server events should be above just playing the game.

If I got "Fortitude tokens" just from playing the game/running missions/crafting/etc.. then how are they different than credits?

Illogical argument.

How are GCW Tokens different from credits?

Simple: The content you do.

I also think you should be able to buy and trade them. They are not even veteran rewards.

You do realize the OP was discussing Fortitude Tokens...not GCW, right?
  • GCW is earned by doing GCW actions.
  • Standard credits are earned from doing standard actions.
  • Fortitude Tokens are earned from logging in regularly, but more generously given as rewards for participating in events.

I see no issue in how they are handed out and earned.

I do. I was simply giving one of several examples of content you do to not get "Credits".

Galactic Fortitude tokens are awarded for doing things that benefit the entire community. I think that player-run events fit well into that category, but I'd also like to get to the point where player-run events are something that is able to be done frequently, on a whim, and without any staff intervention.

Since there are a lot of different types of events that can occur with varying levels of effort and community inclusion, I don't think we can promise to provide tokens for every event. However, we will make an effort to pay attention to player events and drop in to award tokens, as we are able to. I'll mark this as approved for that reason.
