Implemented Other Hard Modes for Instances

Proposal
My proposal is to add the addition of Hard Modes, Epic Mode and Legendary Mode, to the Musty group content. These modes would guarantee Epic and Legendary loot accordingly, with a higher chance of Rare drops increasing the harder the mode.
Justification
As stated the success of Lavafest has allowed a significant number of people access to the endgame PVE content. From a personal side of things, with my regular group of runners the instances are starting to become child’s play and not challenging anymore.
Motivation
I believe the addition of these modes will not only keep regular PVE players engaged but will also facilitate in attracting new players to server.
Given the success of the weekend event Lavafest we have a lot more players gain access to higher endgame PVE content on Musty.

Given that myself and the regular PVE group I run with these instances have started to become a little easy and I would like to suggest the following that could be implemented onto the Musty Instances now and then later on to the Heroics once they have been added.

I'd like to add to this by saying I think the lockouts should be altered for all the instances too though.
Make the Hard mode versions have the 24 hour lockout that the regular instances currently have and reduce the timer on the regular ones to a shorter lockout time to encourage more running of them. The lavafest event over the weekend proved that this would successfully increase the amount of running by doing this.
I know there is also a separate player voice for doing this, just feel like it needs to be brought back up as part of the needed changes too.

Harder stuff needed!
Really love the tactics needed to do Musty, would love to have more of that throughout the game.
If it can somehow be added to other bosses and things that would be amazing!

I think this is a good idea.
In terms of loot / rewards, perhaps the hard mode version could do double rolls on the items (essentially doing 2 instances a day).
Other than adding more items to the pools there isn't much of an incentive outside of badges to do hard modes so double drops should be easy enough to do.

I think providing a harder difficulty setting (if possible) is a good idea, for the reasons you stated.
However, while I like the general idea of rewarding the higher risk, I think it would be best to leave the loot table the same across the difficulties.
The idea for the change was to provide a greater challenge for the experienced players, and that's great. But I don't think the rarity of the loot should be changed due to experienced players seeking a greater challenge. The reward is the greater challenge, not rarer loot drops more frequently (especially combined with shorter lockout periods).

So, a yay from me for the difficulty challenge, but a nay for tilting the loot tables for that difficulty setting.

Challenge modes sounds great, I'd vote for this after the rest of the base game is implemented (read: heroics).


I don't know that I'd add guaranteed epic/legendary drops, that just sounds bad. Challenge modes historically were for bragging rights in other MMOs (except OSRS, I guess) so I'd rather see cosmetic and badges/titles for incentive.

Hardcore mode, I believe, should have higher % change of drops than guaranteed.

Hard mode for missions and a general hard look at PvE might not be a bad idea.
Maybe even a PvE senator in the future?

So I've watched this discussion, and I am fine with 'hard modes' as long as they aren't just number scaled versions of the current instances. Hard modes should introduce difficulty through new challenges of mechancis etc. The problem is this would be a lot of work, so while I support this, I would say this is a 2.0 onwards type thing.

I do think there should be more too it than just more health/armour etc. There should be some mechanic where each boss has some sort of mechanic that needs to be figured out - even each boss having a specific weakness to a certain element could be one of it and figuring that out could be good?
Also yeah I think people not wanting higher loot chances on it are because they also aren't going to be doing it so don't want it more likely for other people to get? Correct me if I am wrong. Else what other reward should people get for it other than just a badge? There's no point doing it more than once at that rate.

We are implementing four instance difficulty tiers for all of our group instanced content, beginning with the rerelease of Mustafar in a patch coming this week.
