You can use this poll to express your preference* for how the Inciting Incident Hint Terminal may hint at your current inciting incident during the special monthly event where it is available.

The options are:
  • A specific hint about a single variable (e.g., the planet your inciting incident will happen on this month); OR
  • A vague hint about a random variable (e.g., each month, we'll randomly roll to select 1 of 3 specific variables (out of the seven total variables) and give you a vague hint about how the value is set, such as by implying you want to be around an area controlled by rebels**)
*The results of this poll are non-binding, we're just looking for opinions, but we'll still do whatever we think is best.
**The examples used herein are not indicative of how incidents work or what any variables are, they are for examples only.

I ask that your team seriously consider adding this feature to the game - whether it be specific hints or vague hints. You without question are aware some of us strive to be jedi. One counter argument would be play on other server where it's easier to unlock; but there are no other servers like this server, all things considered.

Many who are against this sort of addition to the game would argue that it would lead to too many jedi on the server. The existing controls in place (limitation of how many jedi can be logged in at a time, etc.) maintains that standard.

Ultimately, what many "anti-jedi" folks seem to forget is the single most important consideration -- the success and continuity of the sever by maintaining a strong community of players. Without those who are playing with the goal of unlocking jedi, the population will suffer, leading to more players to consider alternative games.

Please remove the complete randomness of B. When we log in, we want to be able to have specific goals to accomplish, and there is simply too much content in SWG to have any sense of direction (with respect to B) under the existing structure. Beyond that, the majority of players are probably in their 30s/40s with families and kids and other responsibilities that lack the time to actually unlock Jedi even if they incite B, so if A unlock is adequately structured (with respect to how much of the game one has to complete), that is yet another control that will limit the server population of jedi (let alone the grind once one becomes force sensitive!).

Like the guy above said, this server is like no other. The quality of player and experience found here is unmatched. Bounty Hunters and Jedi seem to have a strong end game feel. With fewer and fewer jedi maybe those whom master the force can take on apprentices. Trying to rebuild the rule one master a 1 app. I think this can bring some very unique play throughs.

By the dev's own admission we have between 200-300 people who have already unlocked part B, with 1-2 more getting it daily. In its current state part B does not do anything to "limit" the number of force sensitives (besides we already have the jedi life system for that).

The only thing part B is currently doing is screwing over established players who are MUCH less likely to "get incapped by a mob on tat" or "craft an object on yavin". Newer players are much more likely to be in danger and doing random things out in the world. Established players either have to go out of their way to try and trigger part B (which is the most terrible thing you can ever do) or simply wait X months until their inciting incident randomizes into "congrats you logged in, heres part B"

Vote for a hint if you EVER want to see a jedi on this server.

I remember when SOE released the 'hint' feature and too many jedi started showing up, so voting against.

Obviously, I'm fairly new, but I also understand the viewpoint of existing players hoping to unlock jedi. Have you given any thought into having the inciting incident requirements be per account, possibly conditional in some way for only veteran players, instead of per character? It would be a lot easier for established players to do a variety of actions if they could use all their characters against the same variables, even if those variables had to made a little harder to account for the change.

I'm an established player. I got my inciting incident performing a buff on myself on Rori. *shrug*

How about no hints...once you start down a path you can't turn back. Just keep it rare, random, and unknown.
