Proposal
1. Change it so the resources auto stack when collected
2. Give the sample amount a boost
Justification
Everyone dreads either Mollusks or Crustaceans actually being good to the point alot of people dont even want to update them in swgaide
Motivation
If a resources which is worthwhile drops it would be horrible to collect with the current system.
They are collected via the equivalent of sampling but yet they do not automatically stack the resource like samping does. They also give terrible amounts.

100% agree! I seem to remember someone saying shellfield used to be able to be hand sampled like other resources (through the complete sampling tool?) a long time ago - could it be reverted back? If I've made that up, obviously ignore me!

All about it. There is a current issue with that quest - I'll try and get it sorted and get a tool so I can start some testing and build a case for it.

Good PV!

Alright - went and did some testing - and I concur with the OP - Here are my thoughts:

1. There should be a system message that tells you that something is happening when you use the tool. Right now you get nothing until the 5-6 seconds where you find out what (if anything) you located.
2. Yield is too low. I'd almost say this should scale with creature harvesting or another similar stat that gives Scout/Ranger the edge for quantity.
3. Definitely agree - auto-stacking is a must
4. The ability to choose what to search for on the tool would be a big benefit.

I would anticipate something like this getting a much closer look when Scout/Ranger starts getting eyes. On board with OP suggestions. Thanks for the PV!

Good call phil, Right now I just sample to see if the shellfish are any better than the current fish meat in the water. I know the Quest for the tool is being reworked also so I am glad I got what I have.
