Proposal
remove the points from dependencies in professions where they don't make sense
remove unarmed line from fencer, remove 1 handed from berzerker, remove 2 handed line from tk and lancer
Justification
removing skill lines from dependencies where they don't pertain will allow people to make better builds, and put points where they're actually needed, like more healing for their toon or something
Motivation
it gives people back 14 points that are just blatantly wasted where they don't need to be
in order for a person to do fencer they need the unarmed line, sorry, this is 14 points wasted people can put somewhere else like healing
in order for a person to do tk they need points in 2 handed weapons? tk is about unarmed, not using a 2 handed sword or axe wasted points
in order for a person to do berzerker they need the fencer line, berzerker is a 2 handed weapon profession, not a 1 hander wasted points
in order for a person to do lancer they need the 2 handed? lancer is a polearm not a 2 handed axe or sword, wasted points

each of these dependencies wastes like 14 skill points and they make no sense, it was a bad idea, it's like someone gave a kindergardner some things to match up, when they can't read to know what they're doing, and they just don't match, it hurts people's builds and they could utilize the points somewhere else, to fix this would benefit tons of players, not just a few people, this mismatch messes up lots of builds

Thank you for your time, please fix this

Currently, Test Center is testing new requirements for many professions. While I'm not sure if your specific issue will be addressed, I do know the general issue of more build variety and customization is addressed by having optional requirements for different professions. Nonetheless, do keep in mind that the logic behind many of the profession requirements is for balance, and to keep any one build from becoming too powerful while also maintaining an identity and playstyle.

This is mainly a side effect of brawler not have a melee support line like ranged. Instead their specific lines/weapons themselves counterbalance, the second line is needed to maintain the SP cost balance of elite professions. There’s not a world(live or TC) where you’re going to get Lancer, for example, without two brawler lines.

All advanced combat professions require 2 lines going to them. Simply removing a whole line requirement would indeed free up 14x points to be put elsewhere, but I think would cause an imbalance in combat professions. I could see where it makes sense to move the fencer requirements over into the two-handed line, but not remove the line requirement all together. Think this needs to be thought out more before it would be considered for testing.

It was intentionally designed this way specifically TO USE your skill points, preventing builds that are too powerful, too much variety, and unintended consequences. The only way this would work is if you equally reduced the amount of total points while also reducing the number of trees, but the net would be 0, and the consequences only negative either way.
