Open Hybrid Smuggler Abilities

Justification
Smugglers cannot compete with bounty hunters in the current game. These 2 options might level the playing field in a way that fits their role.
Motivation
To make Smugglers competitive with bounty hunters in a controlled way.
Proposal
2 new features for Smugglers:


1.) Master Underworld Smuggler unlocking the ability to shoot BHs that have their bounty. Master Underworld Smugglers can take advantage of their Underworld contacts to be warned that a bounty hunter has their contract.

2,) Shoot First ability. Smugglers should have a high damaging ability that has a 5-10 second charge and can only be used when both targets are out of combat. Han Solo's iconic scene in the Mos Eisley cantina sets the stage for that. Maybe unlocking Underworld faction can lower the warm up down from 10 seconds to like 5 seconds.
I believe that Smugglers need a little love, especially when fighting bounty hunters. The 2 proposals would level the playing field in a logical way that doesn't break the game.

I am always for improving smugglers, however Im not sure how this "first strike" ability could be implemented. I mean, how can you dictate who gets to shoot first. Granted im not familiar with the BH vs smuggler mechanic, but isnt the BH specialty to catch you?

Yes, bounty hunters should get the jump on anyone else. A Master Underworld Smuggler should have contacts across the galaxy that warn him that someone is coming after him

I'd also be okay with it being an ability you can use to see if a bounty hunter has your bounty, so it's not an automatic thing. NGE smugglers had the ability to check another player's bounty.

Bounty hunters are by far the most common and meta ranged class because of how strong they are. Instead of nerfing them, why not give smugglers an advantage? After all, commando is getting some love soon so smuggler changes should be brought up now.

Well if you can get the jump on them you can just concussion shot and run. But I do like the idea of being able to buy out or hide your bounty.

I really hope that smuggler gets some love. Currently, they're probably only used for slicing and are taken as an auxiliary profession for crafters.

Possibly adding more spices, implement a way to check if another player has a bounty on them and if they're currently being hunted(like in NGE), and maybe something related to the black market since that's sort of their thing...

The 'shoot first' ability is a step in the right direction, but smuggler does not have many damaging abilities to follow up with to really fight against a bounty hunter.

If they had that one ability, and pistoleer got a little bit of love, we'd be competitive

That's why I tried to come up with a solution that doesn't make us overpowered. We can stun and run when we want or need, but a little bump in the beginning of the fight can give us a better chance at actually killing BHs in a canon smuggler way.

And with Mustafar there will be an item that makes you immune to daze effects. I'm not looking forward to that.

They've killed me.

I'd be all for some kind of Han Shot First skill that allowed me to concussion (with my pistol against their rifle range) shot and run. I'm never gonna try and stand and bang with a BH. I'll drop my cargo and run at the first sign. I only get on the bounty board when I'm doing PvP smuggler runs, so there would be a serious penalty to me for running away from that. I'm down

A smugglers best utility is in CC the build is not designed to stay and fight, it is to run away. Also learn to use your radar when doing smuggling missions, it helps out a ton.

Trust me you don't want this. As a commando there is nothing worse than waiting for a ten second charge then... miss or better yet when it actually hits it hits with kids gloves and you barely see the bar move.

That makes sense, that's why I'm not really asking for a huge damage increase or anything, mostly the ability to shoot first. Of course, adjusting pistoleer is where most of the damage would come from.
