- Proposal
- A revamp to the way current static bases work and an opportunity to involve artisans in the GCW outside of city invasions.
- Justification
- New engaging GCW content tailored to artisans which also benefits combat professions and assists in the GCW.
- Motivation
- New game mode to keep players interested in the GCW. Gives players the feeling that they are contributing to the wider war and overall better use of in game assets and mini game to add greater immersion for SWG Restoration.
How it could work
As part of this static base revamp idea, the role of the crafter is to combine new loot items with existing static base stims and buff items via an experimentation mini game.
The results would vary but have the potential to produce batches of high quality supplies to support combat and other aspects of the GCW.
Rewarding Effort
Players will need to work together to develop new stims and GCW tools. The more time and effort put in to the Research and Development mini game the greater the rewards, such as unique GCW loot and GCW R&D points which would be used to rank up as members of the Imperial Advanced Science Division.
Example Rank Structure
Director (rank limited)
Senior Scientist (rank limited)
Scientist
Lab Technician
Lab Assistant
Existing Stims
As a side note, Base level stims will always be available, irrespective if players are contributing or taking part in Factional Research & Development.
What happens with the current bases?
Of the 3 static bases, one would be permanently Imperial and One permanently Rebel. The third base could be switched off.
SF players can raid the enemy static base to steal components for their own R&D projects.
