Step 1: Create your Account

In order to login to the game or use our services, you must create an account. We use our website as a central accounts service so you'll always use the same credentials to log into both the forums and game. Click here to create your account.

Step 2: Download the Installer

NOTE: The SWG Restoration Launcher and Client are officially supported on Native Windows Operating Systems only (Windows 10 or higher). Some players have been able to play on the Steam Deck and on Linux and have documented their setup on our Wiki, but we aren't able to provide official support for these platforms.

You'll need to use the SWG Restoration installer to download the Game Client. You do not need a copy of Star Wars Galaxies downloaded to play. If you play on other SWG servers, be sure to install SWG Restoration in a separate location to avoid conflicts with the game files. Follow the installer instructions to continue getting setup.

Step 3: Use the Launcher to Patch the Game

Once you have downloaded and ran the launcher, you will need to sign in. After signing in, you'll be asked to specify a path to install SWG Restoration. Remember, do not specify the location of an existing SWG installation, it must be a fresh, empty folder. Click the "Update" button to patch the complete client. The launcher will determine what is needed, patch, and let you know when you're ready to play.

Step 4: Launch the Game and Explore the Galaxy

After patching is complete, the "Play" button will illuminate. Click the Play button to launch the game and you're in! Get started by creating your first character and joining your next adventure. To get more involved in our community, join us in Discord to chat with other players!
