Proposal
This is a multi part proposal:

A- Increase payout of “extremely danger” BH pve missions by a small but beneficial margin (15-30k)

B- add to the existing loot profile of these targets; items such as decrepits and weapon augments (not guaranteed but part of the drop chance)

C- Increase the difficulty of the “extremely dangerous” missions by a step to match rewards and create a pve “end” game for the Bounty hunter profession.
Justification
Bounty hunting is an iconic profession in the Star Wars universe, but once you attain max level you quickly realize the rewards of bounty hunting are not worth the time it takes to track and drive to each target.

Also, as things currently stand there is no substantial rewards for opting to chase “extremely dangerous” missions. Because the payout is barely anything more than a standard target.
Motivation
When players create a BH they are no doubt aspiring to make their money via the profession. However despite the combat tree being effective, anyone who is experienced will tell you that you are better off grinding terminal missions for your money. This breaks the entire theme for the BH. Who should be encouraged to pursue bounty targets off the profession terminal.

It is not the intention of this post to completely shake the economy. But I do believe it would fill a necessary gap that currently exist.

A credit increase of 15-30k wouldn’t shatter the economy but it would offer another route for combat character to line their pockets fulfilling an iconic profession.

Currently targets have a chance to have credits in their pockets, this is a good thing and should stay as well. But as part of the possible loot table.

The addition of enhancing the loot profile for these targets would inject much needed items into the economy. None of these items have to be guaranteed, just part of the loot table
-decrepits, a vital weapon part that currently is farmed from storm lord. But that is done by Jedi or requires dual boxing which players shouldn’t be forced to do.
-weapon augments, it would make sense that extremely dangerous targets might have high powered weapons augments. Again would be a good way to inject more items into the server economy and wouldn’t ruin heroic farming

The difficulty-
A vital part of this is bumping the difficulty up so that it really feels like a step above the other missions available. I could see an argument for wanting to encourage BHs to take them on in pairs or as a trio. But that might be asking too much I’m not sure. Either way a target that requires the smart use of foods and cooldowns would make it more fun to hunt them down, and with matching rewards I imagine we will see a strong uptick in players performing the BH profession in the galaxy.
Bounty hunting suggestion

Don't even care about the credits, the terrible loot table or BHing in general. Oh look! I just rocked up after some droid told me to, nuked a double gold elite, had 4 drops of BH armour schems when the galaxy literally has thousands of them, plus 25k creds.

There are hundreds of NPCs all over SWG. Hundreds of locations. Make a web. I want intrigue. I want subterfuge. I want assassination. I want to be betrayed. I want to fight my way out of unpredictable situations. BHing should be a lifestyle - a choice to lose big or win big. Make it tough. Fight or flight, only one chance to succeed. I want to remember my victories, to celebrate them and share with my brothers and to mourn my losses. I want to employ friends and business partners from all over Resto to help me achieve my aims - WINNING!

Give BHs' the opportunity to be leaders in player made content - these guys and gals aren't drones in some galactic war. Let them breathe, let them flourish and feel powerful in their own underground circles. But, above all, make their lives damned difficult because the tools they can employ make their class and this game a breeze.

I agreed with you to buff them, actually. But you got me curious, so I just tested the theory. Small sample size of course. I took two sets of two faction missions out of ToX just now, and they both took me about 5 minutes. So, 10 min for 80-85k credits, no loot drops. If I'm doing a 100k+ bounty in the same time, how is it not more money? That's before including any drops.

There may be some great technique or location you have to do it in less time, but I can bounty out of any IJM consistently. I've heard about faction missions since starting but have never seen them actually payout more than these top end bounties in my experience.
Not the average at all but maybe for a unoptimized build. I run faction terminals with a sniper/smuggler and most of the times I dont even need to fight the mobs I can kill the base before they aggro me. I can prob do 2 missions in 5-6mins. Extreme BH missions to me is gimping yourself from making credits and even more tedious with how much traveling must be done. They are just flat out boring outside of doing one every couple weeks to mix up some gameplay but you soon realize how tedious it was and dont do it for another 2weeks+ lol.

I think the spawn system is what needs changed also. Having them spawn in cantinas and dedicated houses on some planets or something like that could be better and maybe even for others as say maybe your extremely dangerous bounty spawned in mos eisley cantina and now everyone gets a show at watching you take this bounty down. Id also say make them even harder to take on then they are as well. The ED bounties should be a gear check.

This has very much been my experience with these missions. And why the pve BH missions always run into a dead end with people after a while. They definitely need to change

Chiming in a bit later on this. But figured I'd throw my two credits in..
I upvoted this to support the proposal, specifically from the perspective of a new player.

Coming into the galaxy the sheer scale of SWG incredible, but it can also be incredibly daunting. One of the biggest hurdles for someone like me isn't just learning the mechanics, it's the financial barrier to entry. When I see conversation in Galaxy Chat or discord about needing multi-millions of credits for a "competitive" gear set, adding 30k additional payout to the terminals feels like a drop in the bucket. Especially for the NPC missions.

Here is why I believe these changes would help new players like me:
  • Bridging the wealth gap: For a vet, 30k might be pocket change. For a new player trying to save for their first set of decent armor or a refined weapon, an extra 15k-30k per mission (while still pocket change in the long game), it makes the layers/steps to get set up feel achievable rather than impossible. It gives a clear, profitable path to grow within the profession. (Especially for those with limited game time but still want to see more than just "terminal grinding" every time we get on.)
    • Maybe this could be a weekend thing instead of a constant thing? Increase NPC bounty payouts during the weekends. Similar to how some games have bonus points for certain content played over the weekend.
  • Thematic Progression: I chose bounty hunter to hunt and make a profit doing it. A hunter without a prize is just a killer. Its an iconic side to bounty hunting. This proposal makes the commitment to the profession feel rewarding and "worth the drive."
  • Loot Accessibility: Including an updated set of loot from these would be great. perhaps even basic bounty hunter gear (not schematics) to help the new BH's of the galaxy get set up. A few have mentioned that the NPCs from these missions drop a few extra thousand credits. But I've only come across that once where the NPC dropped an extra 43k (WOW!!). But most of the others I come across only drop between 100-500 extra credits. It could just be that the my RNG has been poor.
  • Use Difficulty as a Teacher: I actually support Part C (increasing difficulty). I don't want a handout; I want to feel like I'm earning that higher payout. Learning to use my cooldowns and food to take down a truly 'Extremely Dangerous' target is exactly the kind of gameplay that could (1) add some fluff to a very travel based quest. (2) present tactics found in pvp combat. (LoS, CC, dots, etc.).
Ultimately, increasing these rewards could give new players a reason to stick with the bounty hunter path and feel like their time is actually being rewarded while still presenting challenge to get the "prize".

Regardless of what comes of this. At the end of the day, I'm just happy to be playing. I would like to say that the community in general for SWGR has been extremely helpful. Those in discord and in-game who have helped, a special "thank you" for the willingness to answer, teach, and give. Definitely makes a new player feel welcome. And the devs/admins to take time to do live discord sessions on updates/ open Q/A is awesome. Very cool to see this.
