Proposal
Disable getting repairs from the space stations during and for 5 minutes 30 seconds after engaging in PVP combat in space.
Justification
Being able to fully repair your ship mid-combat is detrimental to space combat and allows players to grief other players in PVP.
Motivation
To protect the integrity of space PVP
I propose disabling repairs from space stations during and for 5 minutes *edited to 30 seconds* after engaging in PVP in space. This is currently being abused by allowing players to fully repair their ship mid-combat. This prevents a large number of PVP kills that should count towards GCW and for claiming bounties. It is also illogical to get your ship fully repaired I'm the middle of combat.

Agreed, personally I try to avoid the temptation of combat repairs. Simply by fighting away from the station, when possible.
It is not engaging or entertaining for either side when someone does it. This would be a welcome change in my opinion. I am not sure about the exact cd though but the concept I agree with 100%.

I second what Remis stated. Many occasions, members of the opposite faction make a bee-line for the station to get that repair. A timer after being in PVP combat is needed.

I think stopping repairs while currently in combat is one thing, but 5 minutes afterwards is a bit extreme.
That would mean you're sat there for 5 minutes after a battle just waiting to repair, not very fun. Unless this timer ended when you get blown up/eject?

Don't see an issue with stopping in combat repairs though.

Yeah that is something that would need to be addressed how the timer would function and for how long. But having some sort of barrier to it would be helpful to keep it more about the pvp and less about who can comm the station faster.

Just to be clear, this would be limited to PvP combat? I know for a lot of people that are trying to finish the pilot missions rely on mid-combat repairs to complete those missions when things go off the rails. Nothing like failing the mission on step 8 of 9 or 29 of 30. :)

No, the people downvoting it can see the other side. You beat someone but your half dead, typically youd go repair an finish your duty. Now, they can (and will) keep coming at you until they kill you, wasting your time and effort and invalidating your ability to defend yourself.

The people downvoting it are the ones abusing it lol
We could always say the same about anyone who downvoted balancing the JSF.. If a fight gets dragged to the station then this is a risk you have to accept. it works both ways. You can always repair midfight as well. Whats next.. saying all heals should be disabled in ground PvP..

Funny when you yourself have done this.

I'm not dead set on the number, but there has to be some sort of time because of how combat works in space. It's way too easy to drop. Not having a cooldown would be disproportionately advantageous to fast ships

Unless it wore off immediately on exiting combat it would be abused. Plain and simple. There is absolutely no functional reason outside vindictive motives to have it run past the point of combat ending at all.

Can you please elaborate on how it would be abused?

Already did above.
I'm not I see that as abuse. I feel like that's part of the risk of running duty missions SF.

Realistically, how quickly can someone re-engage you after getting blown up? Within 5 minutes? Within 1 minute?

The timer can be shorter if necessary, but it there has to be something. Combat drops all the time when I fly.

Why am I not surprised you would not see removing a players ability to put the fight back on even terms again as abuse? Realistically, why does it need to be extended past the point of combat at all? You got owned, your problem, why punish the one that owned you.

The problem that you aren't understanding is how the came recognizes being "in combat". If you evade enough shots or just booster away you can drop combat. So someone in a small, fast ship would be able to just jet to the station mid fight, get full repairs, and re-engage. That would actually benefit me more since I fly RGI and JSF.

Attacking my character and accusing me of acting purely in self interest is simply dishonest and a bad-faith counter argument.

"So someone in a small, fast ship would be able to just jet to the station mid fight" Oh....you mean parts CAN matter in pvp? You guys always say they dont lol. If they got away from you thats on you, they could just as easily hyper away as well in that time....oh wait, you wanted to remove that too? Starting to see a pattern here?
