Open Space PvP Disable Station Repairs in Combat

Proposal
Disable getting repairs from the space stations during and for 5 minutes 30 seconds after engaging in PVP combat in space.
Justification
Being able to fully repair your ship mid-combat is detrimental to space combat and allows players to grief other players in PVP.
Motivation
To protect the integrity of space PVP
I propose disabling repairs from space stations during and for 5 minutes *edited to 30 seconds* after engaging in PVP in space. This is currently being abused by allowing players to fully repair their ship mid-combat. This prevents a large number of PVP kills that should count towards GCW and for claiming bounties. It is also illogical to get your ship fully repaired I'm the middle of combat.

Space combat will not drop unless a predefined distance has been met, or a predefined time has elapsed before youve been hit. IF you have allowed either of those 2 conditions to be met its a pilot issue, not a mechanic issue.
See the "predefined time" component is what I find problematic.

If they implemented it without timer I wouldn't be upset, but I just see too much potential for a really lame PVP meta if that's the case.

And once again, if you let them get away from you then thats on you. Why change a mechanic cause you failed.

Besides, if your not hitting them to stay in combat...then why would they be repairing?

I get the premise and even agreed on multiple occasions that in combat repairs are a cheap trick....but the part I dont get is if a player is running from you then you either shoot em in the ass for the kill or let them go. Im not seeing the issue outside lopsiding a revenge attack.

If that were the case then explain why we are here in support of this change. If it is a strategy you are projecting on to us then why are you fighting so hard to discredit us rather than the idea. While we happen to be here in support of it?

Aenith brings up a good niche case but that can be solved or adjusted for by tweaking how the repair prevention kicks in and when it falls off.

Yes the duration might need to be adjusted or the scenarios in which it functions. However we 100% are willing to accept this change because it would be a positive for pvp. Why would you be so vehemently opposed to a positive change to pvp?

An idea put forth providing an overwhelmingly one sided advantage to the loser isnt a positive change for pvp. And fighting to make it one is one thing, but when the original idea was so lopsided in advantage it negates any assumptions its in good faith to begin with.

The positive change is that it prevents anyone engaged in pvp regardless of their side from repairing mid fight. How would that benefit one more than the other unless one potential premise for this argument is because it is based on defending the "tribes" viewpoint in this scenario.

I agreed with your niche case that it would need to be adjusted based on that initial comment. Utilizing your scenario I can also just flag back up and catch you before you reach the station to repair? The only situation that this actually affects is when players are actively engaged in pvp around a station in which they can repair. If the duration is adjusted depending on the situation then you are safe to farm tokens sf and pvp fights that occur in range of a station do not give an advantage to those that wish to repair in the middle of combat.

I'd be good with this as long as it doesn't impact the PVE side of things, I know many in my guild use station repairs in midst of group convoys and high level duties. If they can 100% distinguish the trigger of it only during a pvp fight by all means lets do it. However if turns into a blanket all or nothing option I'd downvote.

I completely understand your point. I have done this myself early on when I was caught in a rough patch due to duty spawns being near other static spawns.

Based on the language in the post Remis is referring exclusively to pvp situations.

You are making an excellent case, but that isnt what was being done before. In fact everything was being aimed at them running to the station. No, running to the station is just what you latched onto. The main issue was always repeated repairs when fighting around the station. I apologize if that got lost in the shuffle.

Then you should have stated that at the start an ammended the 5 min bs instead of doubling down on half-baked excuses on how you lost control of the fight. Hypering away is your fault, them dropping combat is your fault. I 100% agree with not being able to repair in pvp encounters, but at no point at all what so ever past combat because if they dropped combat YOU failed.

No, but I’m not going to argue you. You, Illesia and a few other are notorious for running to the station mid fight. If you don’t want to acknowledge this and make up counter accusations that’s fine.

If they got away from you thats on you, they could just as easily hyper away as well in that time....oh wait, you wanted to remove that too? Starting to see a pattern here?
This guy is reaching. I don’t know who he even is so must not pvp much. And you don’t have a picture of what we’ve been dealing with.

We could always say the same about anyone who downvoted balancing the JSF.. If a fight gets dragged to the station then this is a risk you have to accept. it works both ways. You can always repair midfight as well. Whats next.. saying all heals should be disabled in ground PvP..
Nobody downvoted the jsf proposal. We downvoted 4/5 of the silly ass proposals you made outside adjusting the hit box.

You're forming a narrative that this is some deeply personal issue for me. I win a large percentage of my fights, station repairs or not. I could easily abuse the repair mechanic, but I don't. Same with hyperspacing. There really isn't anything you can do once someone enters the invulnerability window before porting out, so I'm not sure what you mean. Any PVPer worth their salt can fly evasively during the calculation time.

I didn't amend the 5 minute timer because I want people to see the context of the discussion below.

Dude there is no debating with you. You have to lie about everything. It’s tiresome. For a fact, our guild does not station hump. We have followed you and others midfight to the station where you stay on it and repair constantly. I have video showing me actually drag you off the station, damage you, and you run back and repair. You can’t lie about it and spin it to fit narrative. Have a little self respect man. Own your shortfalls. Stop making things up.
