Proposal
Add the ability for droids to perform the tasks of depositing power and emptying the hoppers of harvesters.
Justification
Players will no longer need to spend time running around to all of their harvesters for maintenance tasks. More time can be spent doing missions. Also, the market for droids expands as the Droid Structure Maintenance Module now becomes valuable commodity.
Motivation
The Droid Structure Maintenance Module functionality is too limited for good effect. Currently, it can only be used to pay maintenance fees on structures. For non-energy harvesters, this is of little help since you still must manually visit the structure to deposit power and empty the hopper.
The Structure Maintenance Module for droids is falling short of its potential because the functionality is not complete. It is time for an upgrade.

This is a neat idea. I would definitely use that feature if it was available.

I wouldn't even mind if the devs wanted to sneak in a cheeky little credit sink for using the droid, like the med droids for extended buffs.

I agree. This would bring some life back into an already growing list of useless modules the DE has to avoid. I also think it would be a great idea to help balance the system if there was a droid battery drain that was fairly significant since the droid is technically visiting multiple sites and traveling potentially great distances. I could also be a requirement that the droid has at least one inventory module and needed to be loaded with the required energy resources to resupply the harvesters. You could even cap the energy the droid could store to help further balance massive resource gathering operations, or make the droid only able to resupply your own harvesters.

i love the idea.

Let us face it... if you put down harvesters, you give them credits & energy so they run for days /weeks until their hoppers are full.
When you get there to empty the hoppers, you can easily refill maintenace and power.

Even if the Maintenance Module for Droids would allow the transfer of power units, it would still be an almost useless function.
Only if resources from harvesters could be somehow collected by the droid, it becomes something many would consider using.

I love the idea, of adding power consumption (droid battery) of the droid doing this task. Maybe some timer (simulating the time the droid would need to psysically do the tasks) could be implemented, to avoid empting 10 hoppers across the galaxy in 5 seconds.

About the inventory modules beeing a requirement for resource / item transfer, i like that one too.

I would like to add, such a feature (transfering resources/items) would be a nice thing to have for factories, too.
You start your production, and when it is ready, you just send your droid away to get the products while you keep enjoy hanging around in a bar, continue your shopping tour, doing some roleplay or whatever you are currently doing.
