Proposal
Expanding the Ship Data limit to 9 for the Title acquisition of "Factional Ace".
Justification
Quality of Life improvement for the casual Factional Ace that enjoys space exclusive content. Should not provide any advantage to game mechanics.
Motivation
I started my toons in their desired end game faction when I first launched my ships. After getting Factional Ace, I expected to get 9 slots. Maybe it was that way on Live. I don't recall; however, it seemed like a natural progression. From a programming perspective triggering the additional 3 ship slots with the applying of the Factional Ace badge, should make coding viable without having to create too much new code.
Not to deter folks from grinding AoA for the 12 slots, but as a player that mildly believes in a role play aspect of space, I'd like to suggest incentivizing players to stay pure to their faction while providing them with an opportunity to not have to grind AoA for their end game faction fleet. 6 slots is problematic without re-deeding and boxing up the parts.

I'm generally opposed to giving AoA any benefits, period. But this one, why does a factional AoA need any more ship slots than a normal ace? I mean you're in just one faction, right? I sort of get why a full AoA would get extra ship slots, since you're in all the factions, but factional AoA?

Imperial in particular.

Two POV, and 4 fighters. Those extra 3 slots allow me to potentially use more than one "neutral" ship, or allow me to add the other imperial ships, like Vader's Tie, or my V-Wing. My current open slot is for my Deci or Gunboat.

In order to gain the other slots available for AoA, I have to switch ground faction.

If I have to grind the other factions, I should be allowed to fly their ships.

Poe could do it. So could Finn. We can't though. 😉

It's an extremely niche request, yes.

I would even recommend using Veterans Tokens to unlock the slots.

Strictly devil's advocate with this but, Vader wouldn't recommend switching to X-wing training so you can have a bigger garage for your tie fighters.

Bumping for an additional idea.
Perhaps allowing pilots to unlock additional ship slots with a Tier III/IV token.

There's a genuine role play aspect for my imperial toon in particular, that will allow me to datapad one of each imperial chassis, being a factional Ace and all.

I like this idea. The limit is rough when you're a ship collector and only want to do one faction, too.

It doesn't really add any strict advantages as I see it, it's not like they're an efficient method of part storage for example. Let some people have their collections!

As a collector i like this idea for sure, i dont see where adding more of your own faction ships would cause any advantage other than having choice of what you launch.

Adding the ship slots doesn't take away any accomplishment of AoA. It really just allows a small segment of players an ability to stay faction loyal from a bit of a roleplay perspective. AoA gets the extra tokens, slots, discount at Kash, Hangar etc.

Considering the number of neutral ships also available, anything over 6 for a factional Ace is welcomed.

This is merely a quality of life request for people who don't want to fly opposing factions just to have a bigger datapad.

It's not a skill issue because anyone who gets a factional Ace, can easily get AoA.

Even being able to buy a slot with a Tier IV veteran reward is adequate. More slots equals more pew pew pew.

😁

I can barely string one ship together but as a part of the space community I don't see any issue with this I have 12 I use 4 and so many ships sit in storage deeded simply through choice.

And that's the key bit here choice if someone wants to build out 8-9 ships so be it.

It's probably the least "perk" of aoa so I really don't see it as anything that steps on AoA toes and as said can be unlock provided to all pilots via some means.
