- Proposal
- current ent mission changes
- Justification
- make it more engaging , ergonomic, and less punishing
- Motivation
- motivated by the fact that the current change to ent missions is simply meant to punish afk ent mission grinding by making the missions unbearable.
look im all for making the economy better. Its the main reason i play mmos. But discouraging exploits by making game systems awful is not a fix.
I understand you are trying to throttle afk credits pouring in from current entertainer mission terminals.
This new "mini game" is rough.
First thing: get the prompts out of system messages. Give it its own hud. The prompts get instantly lost in the shuffle of system messages. All it takes is one or two people listening to you or a few emotes and now you have 5 seconds to scroll up and try to find what youre supposed to do.
Second: dont let an interruption in performing reset the buff timer for players. Give us a few minutes to run out and get more missions without punishing clients. Then we can pick back up where we left off.
Third: mix it up. entertainers can craft instruments. put an entertainer tab on artisan mission terminals. or have npcs join you for a duet. or have 3 npcs come to you and request various buff packages. its up to you, but please come up with somethign better than just flourishes.
Message pop ups which require an input like in fishing and surveying. It could be something as simple as , "the crowd seems bored", and you have a choice of changing songs or doing a flourish. Can have a status like the western song where you have to do enough to make the crowd happy. It can be semi cryptic like the droid repair messages you implemented. If the crowd has a particular reaction, there is only a specific song or flourish number that satisfies it. Entertainers, through trail and error, can get better at memorizing the prompts and getting the crowd to your side faster.
Bottom line is the changes you made were not from a game development perspective. Please try to keep in mind that this is first and foremost a game to be played. thank you
