Proposal
An option to turn on/off the default ambient lighting in the house. Also add a dimness control 1-5. 1 being dim, 5 being brightest, to lights we drop.
Justification
To let our creativity shine thru lighting. The most important thing in level design is lighting.
Motivation
when I was decorating I had limited control over the lighting to achieve the tone and mood
With something simple but complex as lighting, with extra controls, we can set different moods and lighting effects in our personal house. Some houses are already lit up bright by default and when we add lights, it makes it even brighter. But if we have the option to turn off the default, ambient light in the house thru the control panel, we can add our own lights to set the effect we want. And further control lights with the dimness lvl 1-5. Many of us loves to decorate our own houses and this will further show our own styles and creativity just thru lighting.

rooms have their own baked lighting. the engine would need some TLC to properly display.

A Mon Calamari in a dim-lit room small tatooine house would look like that.

But it would be neat!

I'll say its very interesting you have mentioned this....

Hope to see more people giving their feedback and upvoting, will monitor and senate sponsor once enough people have done so!

Unsure if it's possible given the game's age and all the fairydust gumming up the back end, but upvoting to at least see if it's possible!

Bumping this - Ignore my own PV, as this says the same thing.

I'd really love to see some attempts made, if removal isn't possible then perhaps a dimming feature.

Now, I don't know this particular engine, but it looks to me like they have a world-light, and then some point lighting for the structure's overhead lamps. Seeing that some will strobe when too many lights are in the room, I assume the point lights aren't baked in (but once again, I've played with other engines of the era, but not this one)

Those Singing Mountain plants have such a lovely blue glow, but you barely ever see it cast. the light gems perform better yes, but even they have to compete with the default lighting, especially in the Generics.
