Remove the Cap on Bounty Hunters for Jedi Player Bounties

Proposal
Remove the current cap on the number of bounty hunters who can take a player bounty on a Jedi.

Allow any number of bounty hunters to take a Jedi bounty mission from the terminal, enabling hunters to group up and engage high-skill Jedi targets without artificial restrictions. The existing reward system — where only the hunter or group that lands the kill gets credit — can remain unchanged.
Justification
High-skill Jedi require coordination to take down. Many experienced Jedi are simply too strong to take out solo. Between Force heals, stuns, movement abilities, and damage output, it often takes two or three well-prepared bounty hunters to succeed.

Jedi can hide indefinitely. They’re able to retreat into player housing — and unless you’re carrying a breach charge (which are rare and expensive), there’s nothing you can do. They pop out to farm XP, then vanish into safety. The system favors their protection, not the pursuit.

Friends abuse the system. It’s common for Jedi players to have their friends take and hold their bounty missions — not to hunt them, but to block others from being able to. This creates an artificial shield around them that has nothing to do with gameplay or balance.

They’re not hiding anymore. Jedi are seen in large sprinting XP groups, farming right alongside regular players. The "rare, hidden, and hunted" theme is gone — yet the bounty system still acts like Jedi are a rare encounter that only one or two people should chase.

Lore supports multiple hunters. In Empire Strikes Back, Darth Vader hires six bounty hunters to go after a single target (the Millennium Falcon). If Vader doesn’t mind stacking high-powered hunters for an important target, why are we limiting bounty access in a game where Jedi are actively and openly engaging in combat?
Motivation
Right now, the galaxy doesn’t feel dangerous for Jedi. Instead of hiding in fear as they should in this era (between Episodes IV and V), they dominate openly. If we’re going to accept that Jedi are active in large numbers, we also need to embrace the natural counterbalance: bounty hunters working together to track and eliminate them.

This isn’t about nerfing Jedi. It’s about restoring balance and immersion.

Let bounty hunters do what they were designed to do:

Hunt high-value targets.

Work together when needed.

Enforce consequence in a galaxy where walking around with a lightsaber should carry weight.

Right now, Jedi are operating like invincible front-liners with little risk. That’s not Star Wars. That’s not balance. That’s not fun.

Let’s fix it.
Hey everyone,

I've been thinking a lot about the current state of bounty hunting in SWG Restoration — especially when it comes to Jedi player bounties — and I believe there's a fundamental issue holding the system back. Jedi are no longer rare or hidden. They're out in the open, sprinting in XP groups, farming side by side with regular players, and yet the tools we have to counter them as bounty hunters are artificially limited.

I want to propose a change that I think would bring more balance, tension, and fun to both sides of the equation. Below is a structured breakdown of the issue, the reasoning behind it, and why it matters to the overall experience of the game.

I agree, Jedi is a touchy subject, but here’s the deal in lore as well, we all know Vader? Yeah? If they’re is more than 4 Jedi in the same area, or planet, Vader would come himself and Instant kill them. Hands down. Not just, Visibility. Imagine a Jedi knight and or master. Vader would be all over them like white on rice. So to add to this, if and I mean if, we stick to the lore. The real lore here, no one would be Jedi ever. We are the normies in the background of the Star Wars movies. We are the white noise. Right? So yes, being a Jedi. And it does state in game. Significant risks involved. If you choose that path. Rebels wouldn’t be reporting them as they are on the same team. Not all Jedi. Or Sith for this matter. As if inquisitors are introduced then the imperials wouldn’t be able to go after them. And but bounty hunters, I think. Should hunt both. Bounty hunters are in it for one thing…. CREDITS. And possibly fame.
I would enjoy a zero Jedi server also but people want to play them and that is how it is going to be. With that said and how it is here is this from another post:

According to the lore in this game's time and age, Jedi are almost nonexistent and are hunted, hated, and shunned by the vast majority of the population. The life of those who choose the way of the Force should be perilous, and they must be extremely careful to avoid being noticed as Jedi.

From this lore perspective, the Jedi's first goal should be to remain hidden and minimize any rumors about their presence. Currently, there are many tools available in the game to lower your visibility, and most of them require patience, which is quite fittingly one of the core pillars of both the Jedi and Sith ways.

If there is a great opportunity for the Jedi to gain something, such as loot from a Heroic, then it should come with risks and consequences. The risk is being hunted by Bounty Hunters, as killing a well-known character in this galaxy (like Exar Kun) generates significant rumors. The consequence is either to fight or to get killed. This choice is for the Jedi to make, but that choice was already made when considering the risk and rewards before entering the instance.

I believe the developers did an excellent job in creating that atmosphere, as I rarely see Jedi in my daily activities while playing the game. There is a clear choice for the Jedi, with risks and rewards attached to it. Following the path of the Force is dangerous and should not be taken lightly.

So? Just reporting them does not automatically put them on the Board.
no, they need several reports dependant on their visabilty.

TBF I think you should go on the boards before the patriots. As soon as you get patriots you get your vis down and thus can avoid it, not knowing would see more on boards i recon.

how about Vader comes and rehks all the Jedi present. On the server, issue solved. If not, then palpatine shoots a huge amount of lighting throughout the galaxy, specifically targeting all force sensitives? Including Jedi. Caught off guard. Lore, can’t argue with it. (I made Vader and palpatine deal up) lol.

I agree we can't follow the Lore completely, however I wouldn't dismiss it as an argument. SWG is about living the dream of being a character in the star wars universe staying somewhat true to the lore is important for the game else we could just add content from all sorts of games and fantasy universes

Um, no, I disagree. If the original developers actually stuck to the lore instead of pleasing the mass audience which was the case and of course corporate was probley involved /I could be wrong about the corporate deal\. I believe SWG would’ve been a great game period, strictly playing as a normie. In my honest opinion. If ya want Jedi and Sith. Go play swtor or some other game to satisfy your Jedi fullness. *note: what I am referring to was back on live SWG servers.* Before they also decided to try and make it like wow. And completely tanked the game entirely.

PS. I didn’t play live, just going off what I was told and videos I’ve watched. And etc… amongst other flaws.

Jedi were in Live from the start.

I’m saying if they NEVER implemented it from the get go.
Ok. But that does not matter here since they are here and not going away. Also SWG was a great game even with them at the start and SOE messed it up with the NGE. They even said they messed it up by going that road. I would love to see a SWG server somewhere that is is like this one but zero Jedi.

I would have to argue a simple fact that in Live with Perma Death being a factor it would take 2-3 full groups to kill a Jedi. Understanding that the Jedi on this server are only Padawans 2-3 BH is very fair now if we are saying to remove the limit of BH's able to hunt Jedi then Jedi are going to need a huge buff. There are some really good BH's on our server who do not need any help and can 1v1 some of the Jedi on our server for this reason I am Down voting. Get Good or Get Hooked!

This has been tested with more than 3 just FYI

okay bounty hunting with over 3 hunters should be fixed on TC if anyone wants to give it a shot

The last thing I read was that Padawan = 3 BH, Knight = 5 or 6 BH Master = 8 BH or something along those lines. So the increase is coming in time.
