Saber Appearance Color Crystal

Saber color and appearance that we can equip
Justification
Immersion, choices, roleplay, and not tied to certain crystal based on stats.
Motivation
More crafting of sabers and customization allows immersion and reality of the star wars universe where we can tailor our characters saber and hilt and not be pigeon holed.
Picture this in a galaxy far far away and you see jedi or sith using weird color crystals that they can't really control and cant control the hilt either.

The color that they use or hilt as they need to use a certain color or hilt for better dmg/regen based on what damage they want, powers, or force regen but wait there is hope as you can make an appearance saber with whatever hilt or color crystal you want to wield the glowbat you've always wanted too.

So this --> an appearance crystal so you can equip whatever statted crystal you want and then it can be whatever color you like.

Lightsaber color should be part of customization and not min maxing, being able to basically have an "appearance" crystal would be massive and we'd see more color variety.

Rare colors and stat mods would still be sought after for their own merits, I don't see a downside to this other than less lava crystals (which is not a downside)

Yeah I originally wrote this as a saber hilt/crystal appearance as 1 thing. Not sure how it could/would be implemented but it would be nice to have the appearance of our choice and not be tied to something that does not maybe fit our leaning of our character or role that we play.
 
I think this is a cool idea, I think there's also a wider discussion re: appearance item weapons to be had too, one thing here though, is with this change, would this remove the reason Ambition is such a chased item in heroics?
 
Weapon appearance would be really cool for those who want to roleplay stormtroopers/officers or rebels etc. I could see changing your gun to shoot red or blue....I'd be down for that maybe another thing crafters could customize on that part.

Ambition comment it's a color and I think we should be able to tailor our color based on our character and not be pigeon holed.

On that note if I get a ambition crystal ill be putting it in trade for a blueprint:)
 
Ambition is a unique color right, that's the only one with that color blue? If that's the case I don't think this would lower its value too much. I'd still be trying for it to use to be unique.
 
Yeah it really doesn't reduce ambitions value by that much if at all

it's not a unique stat mod, but it *is* a unique color.

but this could also give someone who wants to use a yellow saber the ability to appearance a yellow saber onto their lava crystal.

or if someone doesn't want the BF regen crystal or ambition, they could still benefit from the 6 force regen bonus and appearance in a green (which is normally +5 regen bonus).

Unique colors will still be sought after, and some less used crystals will get more use too.

Case in point? I hate the lava crystal, I'd use a blackwing if I could just use it for appearance and get the lava crystal stats. Less people use blackwing right now because it's powers damage, and not regen.

If anything this will promote more color crystal variety, maybe even make ambition more sought after honestly.

-Color customization is on the pipeline as it has been mention a long time ago , when it will be implemented that is anybody's guess
-While i do agree regular colors should be available as cosmetics , unique color crystals should stay that UNIQUE , the reason they are unique is not every has one
Aconite has made several points regarding rare loot , about how being rare is the point of it and not everyone is meant to have it
-Value is something some of you all have no clue how it works , rare items are valuable and worth a lot because they are rare , the minute everyone has something it becomes nearly worthless
-With this entitlement mentality i would not be surprised if someone makes a PV about creating a collection that rewards a Gunship blueprint simply because someone wants a gunship and they feel they are entitled to have a Gunship because why not
-Another example of rare items staying rare is the Gunship blueprint , before all the parts were available you could find a blueprint for 5-7m credits often , now the supply and demand has made the price of a Gunship blueprint sky rocket , so if you really want that Gunship you are going to have to pay a nice premium for it

you make great points but i had to laugh at that, i agree the unique colors maybe you have to unlock those crystals to transmog? so you still have to earn it*

These are good points — for the sake of clarity, nothing in this PV is approved, I’m merely sharing that we are indeed working on a much more intricate color customization system that is independent of stats

I agree with you 100% , all im saying is UNIQUE items , whatever they may be should stay that unique , being rare is the point of it , something alot of players can't grasp that concept

Ummm, how would slotting an appearance crystal make crystals less unique? You still have to own Ambition to get Ambition's color.

Normally I agree with you on most things but in this case you seem to not understand what is being asked and it is pretty simple. Just allow an appearance crystal so whatever you are using can APPEAR to be whatever color you want. Nothing about entitlement in that and nothing about unique stuff being impacted other than the appearance. Think you jumped the gun or misunderstood. Not everyone knows what has been said by who in the past either. Relax a little eh?
