Proposal
Those framiliar with 'legends' and their great city management system, know on the city terminal you can toggle 'show city border' this places a chalk like vvvvisual border on the ground showing the actual city border.
Justification
By having a visual, none distracting but seen border, this can help in knowing the border and not guessing where it is. Where city buff can be attained, where harvs and structures can be placed, storyteller walls and deco can be added.
Motivation
Adding the visual border helps all wirhin the city and those who may potentially wanna join a city knowing what area it encompasses.
Where is a cities actual borders?

This is a cool idea, I think it would make it easer for players to ensure they are placing buildings within the city limits, and allow for better city planning. Will be keeping an eye on this, look forward to feedback from the wider community!

works very well on Legends, the white circle shows up on the mini map as well (from memory), would make a nice QoL for here

If you could add chalk, isn't that the same as being able to edit and modify the terrain since it's just a white texture, basically that texture could be anything- including the roads.

It's a good idea, but I think it's the same system.

Seemed like something right up your alley in 20 mins! Get on it!

This seems like a helpful addition to the game, but there are a couple things we would want to adjust if we did it here. The "chalk" look is not really very appealing, and somewhat immersion breaking. So there are two ways we could go about this:
- Managed by the city: Some in-game objects like fence posts or outline markers and pylons like you see when constructing a house. The owner could then turn those on or off, and it would show up to everyone that came by, and would fit more into the universe, but might still look awkward in some cases (hills, collisions, etc). Changing the terrain like Legends does is possible too, but also looks awkward in most cases.
- Managed by each player: Some game option to "show city borders" which would then just display a more "out of game" circle around the city border. Similar to the "show object names", this could be something people turn on or off depending on if they need to view it at that moment.

Which would people prefer?

What the visual ends up being is up to you guys- to me the chalk is less evasive seen but not standing out like a sore thumb. if you wanted to go poles, cones, fence, dotted line etc, anyhthing will work.
oh, also while im thinking about it, the pylons/red fencing visual on leegends used to warn entry into pvp zones-
how? I am good with either tbh if it made it ingame, the city terminal option poses a credit sink potential if it had a cost to turn on/off but of the two the adding in a 'show city borders" toggle/clickable in options each individual could choose to use is best option- allows each player immersion and such.

I would MUCH prefer a toggle option as mentioned by Ornj. Like the "show all object names" option, it'd be there if you need it, but you could turn it off if it were intrusive.
