This brief update is to clarify a recurring question regarding our official posture for how we view the setting of the game to set expectations for future content implementation and to clarify our timeline for the members of our roleplaying community.
The Restoration Galaxy takes place in 3 ABY after the Battle of Hoth.
The storylines of Star Wars Galaxies are not considered canon. The game will continue to follow the story arcs and events in the "Legends" Expanded Universe which includes movies, books, comics, and games authored prior to 2014, without respect to changes or additions from the Skywalker Trilogy or future canon materials.
