Hello y'all so ive been thinking since the last senate debate but what if it was possible to refine Mats of the same kind of lower quality to better one basing it off of a form of reverse engineering to where your opp chance can help you craft better mats in a refining process
Hey Diablotd,
Thank you for taking the time to create this player voice.
Lets get into it. Currently, there are resource recyclers where you can merge your leftovers into a low stat singe resource. its good for consolidating and for schematics which dont have experimentation.
Your proposal would be to allow a crafter to augment these stats higher based on RE chance, OPP chance, etc.
I've often thought about a refinery added to the game (glorified recycler) which would give players more immediate access to creating high end products.
The thing is though, this 5+ year-old server has seen enough resource spawns to be able to cover almost every schematic. Space resources got a stat boost this year and we are slowly seeing the benefits. Corka finall got replaced and im pretty sure theres about 100 billion units on the server heh.
So the availability is there, but for a new crafter, it is the credit investment to be competitive sooner rather than later. Since top resources spawn all the time, you're never really locked out. You can start collecting the resources you need right now.
Buying the rest is part of the journey of every serious crafter. We've all paid our dues and its a vital part of the player driven economy.
Now the task of procuring credits. You can have a combat alt that runs faction terminals. If you're a purist like me, you can survey missions. If done properly, you can get around 350k credits per hour that way. Theres also space duties among many other ways to turn a profit.
But getting back on topic, if we put a way for crafters to enhance their resource stats, we would be negating a core system of SWG. The value of rare resources would plummet and resources in general could lose their identity. Many many resource hounds in the game rely on this synergy.
I understand that you would like a catch-up mechanic. The best I can do right now is to let you know the crafting journey begins at master on Resto. It may take a few months to get fully settled in, but thats the gameplay right now.
