Proposal
I think the probe droid that lands should be able to be called in the town or at least 100m away not 500m
Justification
Itll save time and make grinding bounties less tedious not "easier"
Motivation
Its just so tiring doing BH tier 4 investigations now. I have been playing for like a week and even though alot of stuff is slower its slower with purpose and is interactive, Having to call down the droid 500m from town has just killed my entire BH inspiration.
I really dont see any reason the probe droid cannot land in the main cities. You let them land in player cities. I can't land from space into a player city so it doesn't even apply. it's just a needless extra step to walk 500 meters out of the city after getting a bounty to then probe and wait and then run back to the starport. It would cut out so much filler time. BH was so cool till I hit investigation 4, now its just a waiting simulator. The amount of money that increases on BH from level 1 investigation to 4 does not justify the increasing amount of tedium.

If you are running them out of NPC cities you are taking more time really but to each his own. I have a hunch they can't really fix that piece easily because of the old coding and the footprints piece with NPC cities.

It sounds like you are running Space bounties? If so use Jabbas spaceport. Go to Pelgo Slums which overlaps Jabbas and gety your BH mission and between the terminal and Jabbas call your probe.

No it’s just regular bounty terminal missions. I have to land in a space port to grab them. If I take a shuttle to a player town and then do it it’s still just me going back and forth again. It’s go to terminal, grab the request, go 500 meters out of town or pick up the bounty in a player city via shuttle, wait for droid and interact, then go back to shuttle port or into the city for the space port, then go to the planet and then track them down and repeat. All of that for a low amount of money. It seems pointless outside of rp. Every end game player I’ve seen makes loads of money from just killing stuff. I’m not saying make yourself super rich via pve bounties but currently the way it is has way too much tedium compared to spins/ killing high level mobs for chests. You get the same amount of money at my current level for doing a simple kill 45 creatures 900m away without doing all those steps.

A lot of ppl were crapping on this opinion in galaxy chat and I don’t understand why, there has to be a middle ground to not make bounties feel so brutal to do compared to a regular terminal mission. People said it would break the economy but it is more tedious and longer to do for less money than a lot of other things in the game. I don’t see how the droid can’t land in the city if it can land in player cities. If it’s for rp maybe only let you call it down by the bounty terminals, either way I just wanted to point this out and in no way is my stance on this indicative of how amazing this game is and how awesome the staff is. At the end of the day it could be hard coded and out of their hands and I appreciate all the effort and sacrifice going into this. I’m just putting this last part out here due to the response I received from ppl in game that was aggressive and slandered my character.

I'm pretty sure you can't call them in NPC cities because:
1) Risk of the droid landing somewhere it will not be accessible
2) Risk of the droid landing somewhere where it cannot path correctly to you
3) Not as important as 1 or 2, but possibly immersion-breaking for a droid just to crash land in the middle of a busy city.

In player cities there are defined spacing in between each building so its easy for the droid to "decide" where to land.

To give an example of this, here is the BH Terminal in Mos Eisley (NOTE: I've posted this in PlayerVoice channel on discord here as I can't seem to post images). I have drawn a rough area of where the droid might land, like on the other side of the wall in the Starport area. Can you see how some of these locations would be a problem? In a player city you don't have these issues. This will result in people making tickets when they can't find their droid.

Also, you can pick up a mission, fly to Nym's Starport and you call it immediately if you walk North about 30m. There's ways around it.

Most pick up their mission from Endor Smuggler's Outpost and fly there.

That definitely makes sense if it can’t be coded to drop closer to you, I always grab it from mos eisley next to the star port and there is that open patch so I definitely didn’t think about the thing pathing around because there is could just come up to me. I think it could just pop down on me still but I get your point 100%

Many people go to Solarus on Dantooine for BH missions. The terminal is on the shuttleport and there is no starport to have to run through just the outpost which saves time. Banth suggested Endor as well and that works too.

I like Solarus better because if the bounty is on a planet I don't want I can cancel it while still standing at the terminal and get a new one without having to run back.

Thank you for the suggestions I will try these!
