Implemented Increase Doctor Buff Duration

Proposal
The Titel says its own Increase the Doctor Buff Durations above 40mins or add something that does it
Example - A Quest for Master Doctors that gives you an Item or a Set for it do Increase the Duration by additional 20-30-40 Minutes or a Droid Module that increases it.
Justification
This change will not go into negative at all it will make people happy and less deaths in spinning groups also Doctors CAN charge for their better Buffs. In General this will give a big plus to the server and the community will be happy.
Motivation
With a 40 Minute Buff Duration it is not possible to have a Solid Farm Season or grind before you have to run back to get buffed.
I have no idea if someone posted this Suggestion or not but i will. In PreCU you can get Buffs up to 3h in NGE up to 1.30-45 with the Heroic set here none of these. As a Farmer myself i would not like to spend 40min only farming 5-10min for the drive if there is no Shuttleport. I guess this idea is perfect and would make ALOT of Players realy happy

I'd like to see longer doc buffs, frankly they're all but useless (unless you have a doc in group of course). But I'd like to see you have to make choices about which buff you really want - ala Entertainer, to go along with the longer duration.

Totally agree, 40mins is too short for a spin session. 1 hour to 1.5 hours seems more like it with perhaps the ability to extend that with a healing module droid.

In my honest opinion as a Droid Engineer, it would be nice to make a medical droid have more use than it currently does. At this point, they do not really sell and it's not worth having the extra 10% over a medical center.

Maybe the buff duration could depend on the quality of the medical module?

Obviously, if a doctor is away from the keyboard for too long the droid battery will go flat and the buff extension would no longer work. Making it more important to be online or at least checking in.

A longer duration would be nice, and like Juspar says, perhaps with a choice to the buff mix you want, and yes definitely be good to see something coming from the DE's that could increase the buff duration, perhaps with limits to usage (master only) and while not n a macro sort of thing?

This would be pretty neat for Doc buffers. Pre CU, for context, was upwards of 2.5 to 3 hours depending on how the buffs were crafted. So even 1 to 1.5 hours of buff time would be especially useful for providing doc buffs from bots.

Keep in mind, I believe there is a heroics set of jewelry that will increase buff times as well, however, I am unsure how much. Even just adjusting it to 1 hour instead of forty minutes would be a welcome improvement.

It really just depends on the context/decision of development as the incentive on 40 minutes is for mDoc to be involved with the group for content.

I missed your paragraph below: NGE up to 1.30-45 with the Heroic set here - do you remember what exactly the time was for said heroic jewelry? For reference: https://swg.fandom.com/wiki/Striker's_set

Actually looking here:
  • +3600 sec. Enhancement Duration. so that's +60 minutes, so likely a total of 1 hour 40 minutes with Heroics that will eventually be added
A side note regarding aversion to AFK doc bots, while I understand the frustrations of botting from places like Basilisk - it does provide a service for solo farming/players that don't want to invest SP into mDoc while allowing them the option to utilize the increase in action/mind/health regen, combat speed, and poison/disease buffing. Having that accessible 24/7 is useful from a solo player perspective

There’s nothing wrong with AFK buffing and I believe the buffs should be default 2 hrs and when Mustafar or Heroic Jewelry comes out there’s something that increases them to the same duration as Entertainer.

Doctor buffs being AFK-able is a benefit to people who want to PvP and has no bearing on anyone outside of that.

I will add I think it would be nice to tie increased doctor buff duration into the medical crafting. Something like an enhancer to increase the duration by some percentage.

The current doctor buff durations make perfect sense if you have a doctor with your hunting party. And camps only make sense if a doctor cant heal wounds unless its in a camp or med center. I cant recall if thats why camps were necessary in the original game, but I think so. In R3 (scout)camps are utterly pointless.

But since this version of SWG is more solo play than MMO... then I guess this proposal would fit.

Camps let you fly to them from a starport/shuttleport. I use them all the time to go ahead of the party for events and place them so my group can get there faster and don't have to drive 5-6k each.

Sorry, I guess I should have been more specific, I was referring to scout camps (the ones that only scouts make) are useless.

Originally camps were required to pull anything asset from the datapad. vehicle, droid, pet as well as heal wounds and buff. All were dropped pretty quickly leaving camps only usefull for its medical bonus for doc buffing and cantina bonus to allow entertainers to buff in camp at reduced effectiveness. which again was shortly dropped and both docs and entertainers could fully buff and high lvl camps. Docs just had to have a medical droid out to heal wounds in the field.

Badly needed Doc buffs are far too short. By the time your buff and out gaming you need to head back. I think people would tip more as well so its a win win
