- Proposal
- Adjust the armor bonus values to reflect the way it's being calculated. In addition, adjust armored pets armor bonus to .3 as opposed to .2.
- Justification
- The current descriptions in the examination window aren't accurate. This can lead to confusion and makes it difficult to plan pets out for anything other than 2.2dps.
Currently there is no reason to dump into armor bonus. Even if you do go beyond a 1.6 armor bonus there are no gains. If armored pet's adjustment is changed to .3 instead of .2. It will increase the current armor cap from 6500 to 7000. This could open up the path to pets beyond just 2.2dps.
- Motivation
- Making it straight forward will allow BE's to calculate the stats of a pet before they cook it. Allowing them to save time and resources without having to waste them on experimenting. While there is nothing wrong with experimenting. It's a 36-hour window to yield final results which makes it the largest experimentation timeframe out of every crafting class.
As for my motivation to increase the armored pet family armor bonus from .2 to .3. Create a viable alternative to the only pet meta 2.2dps.
Pet armor bonus does not work like it appears. They are also off on a tenth of decimal.
For example: 5625 base armor x .02 = 5737 armor. The .2% armor bonus that it shows on the examination window is being applied as .02. If you cap armor bonus at 2.2% the math is 5625 x .22 for 6862 armor.
0.22 is the decimal equivalent of 22% (0.22 = 22/100).
2.2% is a different value, which is calculated by dividing 2.2 by 100.
Thus, while both are percentages, they represent different values.
