This idea/suggestion is Open. You can respond to ask questions or discuss the idea and either vote it up or down if you believe it should or should not be implemented, respectively. Popular suggestions and ideas will be considered by the development team to become reality in-game.

Proposal
Create a quest line for Artisans where the end reward is a device that can allow the user to select a frame and a screenshot to make a poster. Make it a perm device, or X number of uses which would require rerunning the quest to get another device.
Justification
This would be an a very interesting and creative way to keep Artisans engaged in creating their own "unique" posters.
Motivation
Provide content for crafters that the end product is limited by their own imagination.
Create a device that can select a poster frame and insert a screenshot taken by a player.

While the idea is neat, I fear such system could be abused to create inappropriate posters, (porn, trolling, bullying, slander campaigns, etc.) that would break the immersion, even if the player just made them for personal use and not trading or selling them.
Thus sadly downvote -1.
 
I like the idea. Would be a rad way to integrate advertisements and other content within the server. If someone did something atrocious, they'd just get reported and banned. UPVOTED.
 
Love the idea. However it has a lot of downsides besides the obvious potential for inappropriate stuff. For example it also runs into the issue of people making posters of stuff for or from trademarked or copyrighted things and to have to police all this makes it not really worth the time. I suppose you could have it in some way where once every X amount of time "posters" like the paintings can be submitted and approved by the Dev team so as to avoid this mess.
 
In a perfect world this would be an awesome feature, however it most likely will be abused right out the gate and just create a new system that needs babysitting by staff
 
For the paintings, since they aren't in open world, it has the same tone of "what happens in your home stays in your home". If anything add an option to blur custom photos by default unless examined or something.

I like this idea.

It is a good idea until it is abused and the blur or even just in your home part would not be enough to stop some of the things that could cause real trouble for the Devs and the game.
 
Not to mention the issue of consent as well, if someone make a poster of another player without asking and turn it into ingame item.
People can be quite attached to their characters, especially the roleplayers with their mains.

History has shown that people can get very creative with the tools that are given in the games, be it with good or bad taste.
As much I love the the idea, the negatives just outweight the positive with it.
 
Another good idea in "theory" , i wish people would take a bit more time to think a bit more about the possible repercussions when posting ideas .
Letting players create posters of questionable moral character would be a sure way for the Mouse to try and shut this down. Im sure Disney would not like to have risqué art in their star wars intellectual property , needless to say Downvote
 
Archeage had a system like this - And while its technically great for customization - 30-40% of all content falls in the category of "you don't want this in your game"

Really great idea, to all the countering opinions the things they want to have posted can just go through moderation first and be approved first. If the scope for that is too much then I get it.

I wish people would take a bit more time to think about repercussions when posting demeaning replies and trying to take way the entire point of a player voice existing in the first place. I’m sure a poster would appreciate a meaningful argument through a friendly tone rather than being demeaned. There are avenues to introduce this idea with safeguards and moderation to avoid the fair but rudely put counters you have. Needless to say be nicer

Would this also risk overworking the moderation team, if they had to check every single screenshot artisans take with their new tool, while they could use the time on something else?
Their mailbox would be spammed with numerous screenshots people start to take with this device, that would be needed to approve or decline.

Plus would this device also devalue the worth of screenshot contest winners, who's shot got approved into the game? Just safer to keep this as annual time to time thing instead.

There being an annual contest for this is super cool I didn’t even know that was a thing yet. That definitely changes things. To further point out though I literally said if the scope was too much I get it. The scope really seems too much. I think the yearly contest is really cool though maybe they can make it twice a year for the artisans.
