Re-egg of CHs Combat Pets via an Item BEs Would Make and Sell
This idea/suggestion is Open. You can respond to ask questions or discuss the idea and either vote it up or down if you believe it should or should not be implemented, respectively. Popular suggestions and ideas will be considered by the development team to become reality in-game.
Proposal
Allow a Creature Handler (CH) to re-egg their combat pets to allow the transfer to another character on their own account by implementing an item that a Master Bio-Engineer (BE) can make. A possibility could be an item that a Master BE creates using materials, similar to a regular pet, and takes a comparable amount of time to make the Re-egg item. That time could then be sold to someone who can use it on a combat pet to turn it back into a “No Trade Share” egg.
Justification
This would allow a CH who incites and starts down the path of a Jedi to transfer their pets to another character on the same account. The pet would still need to be relevelled (combat and loyalty), and all skills would need to be acquired and learned.
In addition, a common point presented by the BE community is that allowing free transfers would undermine the BE economy. This option adds another area where BEs can make money by creating the Re-egg items. The item could cost ~5,000,000 credits.
For someone who wants to transfer their Reek, Rancor, and Acklay, this could cost ~15,000,000 credits.
Motivation
When a character incites and becomes a Jedi, a 4th character slot is opened as an option to remake the build of the character that became a Jedi. CHs are one of the only professions that have a significant aspect of their profession locked into just one character and is non-transferable. Thus, not allowing the ability to transfer or continue the old character’s legacy. This means the potential loss of use of very rare creatures such as Blackwings or Mutated Aclays. In any other profession, items that are not bio-linked or no trade, such as armor, weapons, heroic jewelry (even the free set), droids, creature mounts, starships, starship parts, houses, etc., can be transferred from the old character to the new character on the same account and in some cases to other players. This would allow a player who has spent significant time and money acquiring their pets to continue using them on their other character(s), thereby allowing them to continue their CH legacy. Additionally, it would enable the BE community another opportunity to continue earning money from creating and providing the transfer item.
I have seen this topic brought up several times, and I am bringing it up again with a proposed solution to address one of the main issuies brought up.

i think it's difficult to consider this if the only justification is loss related to Jedi (a very big gain), and how many other things will then come up that people "lose" because of going to Jedi that they want to be compensated for/exchange (e.g., PAAS rewards)
I think I understand where you're coming from, but CH's will also experience the same loss of these items as every other player. Pets are exclusive to CH's and thus CH's are the only one's that feel this pain of having pets become useless if they ever switch from CH period, whether Jedi or another class, while also still feeling the same pains as every other player.

Once you have a pet, especially if you've put a ton of time getting the resources to create/purchase a mutated pet, you're completely locked into that class, or; by leaving said class, will lose all that time/effort. I struggle to think of another class that has this limitation beside Jedi, which literally prevents you from not being Jedi after you select it.

Finally, most people incite on their most played character. The difference for CH's is that your most played character is often the CH, meaning we have to, at minimum, incite on two toons, as inciting on the CH is basically a non-starter at the moment for many of us who have spent the time/resources since the beginning of the server.

I say all this as a proud Jedi/CH, but it simply seems like CH are being targeted with extra penalties simply for being CH.

I would say you are wrong, dead wrong, on the "targeted" piece as that is just a matter of perception.

CH is a unique class almost like Jedi in a way and that is really the big issue. It is an all or nothing class unlike some of the other combat classes not to mention many if not most of the people who take and stick with it really enjoy the CH class and it's unique gameplay. BUT with that said it is still a choice and you act like you can only ever incite on 1 of 3 alts. Basically this is saying if we incite on our CH first we don't want to have to wait to incite on another so make some big changes to the game system that will have unkown impacts on the entire game and oh yeah on CH who don't incite.

The upside of CH is how unique it is and how invested you can become in your pet as more than just cannon fodder or throw away gear. But everything has a cost or downside and the downside here is if you incite on your CH first are you willing to give that up, assuming you have even gotten that far, or do you wait. I say all this as a MCH who incited and gave up my pets and started CH on another alt. FYI I would not have bought more and better pets if I could have traded them not to mention if they actually do add pet decay well....

I'm pretty sure everyone's aware of your position. There are plenty of other good points on here from different people, including CH/Jedi's (like me) and a BE; there's really no need to spam each person's comment with a reply. Maybe let others that disagree voice their opinions as well? I think it's fairly clear based on the votes that the community is overall positive on this idea.

I am sure they are but I post because I can and am bored (and some are responding to people posting directly to me). Also because people say stuff like "targeted" that is obviously not true or stuff like this "Most just drop it entirely." also no proof/false.. Oh 12 upvotes counts as the "community"? Lets see 600 folks at the Senate inaug, roughly 300 on at peak times, and you say 12 is the community? Go to the main player voice page and select popular. 12 votes does not even come close and even if something is "popular" it does not mean it is a good idea.

If I am not mistaken you also really do not have to give up your pets and can be a Jedi/CH right? :)

This PV is going nowhere because it doesn't have a senator to sponsor it. It can't get a sponsor because Aconite has said no. This PV should be closed.

Serious question here - How is being a Jedi/CH being forced to give up your pets? And if Knight stays like they have said it only gets better with Knight with 24 SP added back in.

This should be possible. Biolinks are an anti-sandbox economy control mechanic that have no place in pre-NGE SWG. Linear progression class games require them to curtail hand-me-down but they only inflate prices in a sandbox game without any player or economy benefit.
