- Proposal
- Keep the house total storage cap but remove the limit of 50 items per furniture container, or at least increase it to 200, to allow players to store their items however they see fit within their house.
- Justification
- A cap per container is not really needed since the total storage limit is already capped at the building level. This only adds unnecessary constraints on where a player wants to store their items. Realism can't really be used to justify it either since an armoire should be able to hold more than a cabinet and definitely more than a backpack or pockets for that matter. Should it be an issue of performance with displaying to many items at once, then at least increasing that limit to a less restrictive level should already help a lot.
- Motivation
- RE junk loot piles up fast and it would be nice to be able to store all of it within a single container. Probably valid for other uses like resources, components, etc.
The limit of 50 items per storage container limits players in how they can store their items and forces them to split between multiple containers, while not having any relevant use since the total storage is already capped at the building level. Lifting that limit per container would allow storing however many assets a player wants in each container, within the building limit, removing the need to search through multiple containers for similar item type (e.g. junk loot for RE). Alternatively, should it present a risk in terms of performance, at least increasing the item limit to a more reasonable 200 would already tremendously help with item management.
EDIT: Updated to include the alternative to increase the limit rather than lift it entirely, in case it could cause performance issues.
